Visa Inc. is looking for a bright, enthusiastic, and dedicated employee to join our PRE-Risk Application Support team. In this role, the candidate will be responsible for supporting our production Risk applications by managing and supporting Issuer client implementations, solving technical problems, and coordinating the deployment of various application development initiatives. The candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, manage changing priorities, follow established processes, troubleshoot problems and perform root cause analysis in a mixed Oracle, Java, and NoSQL Linux environment, and work internal tickets and client escalations. The candidate must have an aptitude for seeing and quickly identifying issues, determining causes and delivering timely solutions.
Specific Responsibilities will include:
- Initial escalation for PRE-Risk application issues including support of Call Center analysts and Account Management partners on Issuer escalated issues.
- Implement and maintain functional and performance monitoring scripts and tools.
- Monitor application performance (e.g. memory, logging, latency) and work with development and performance management teams to identify and address performance tuning opportunities.
- Deploy code, operational break fixes and other proactive maintenance activities.
- Participate in root cause analysis for service failure and provide resolution.
- Work across functional teams to resolve complex issues.
- Compose and maintain clear internal documentation.
- Work with ticketing application to manage ticket queue and maintain Service and Operational Level Agreements.
- Follow and promote established processes and guidelines for Production systems.
- Function in an Operations environment requiring rotating on-call support including nights and weekends as required.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline preferred or equivalent work experience in a similar environment.
- Experience with Linux command line utilities for troubleshooting and maintenance of applications.
- Experience with SQL databases with the ability to write and execute SQL queries.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong work ethic, self-starter, ability to work in fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Strong technical aptitude and a desire to learn is a must.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a level 2 production support role and/or software development.
- Experience with Unix shell scripting, Perl, Java and/or Javascript.
- Experience supporting a multi-platform application with understanding of interactions between application platform layers including Linux/Unix OS, Java JVM, REST and SOAP interfaces and Database.
- Understanding of distributed Linux Systems, load balancing and Network concepts.
- Experience with Oracle, MongoDB and Couchbase.
- Experience with FICO Falcon application.
