The Data and Artificial Intelligence Platform (DAP) group is a key component of Visa’s Technology organization that provides the enabling technology and processes to handle Visa’s data assets and deliver valuable information, products, and services to customers. We are responsible for designing, developing, and implementing next generation data platforms to drive incremental revenue. We are looking for full stack engineers to join our team as Sr. Data Engineer based in Foster City, CA.
Responsibilities:
- Hands-on Programming
- Full-stack development contributes to the design of backend databases and queries, API creations and consumptions, and contributes to frontend UI development.
- Works independently with minimal insight to develop software that conforms to Visa’s high standards of security, quality, performance, resiliency, and compliance.
- Design, develop, and unit test applications in accordance with established standards.
- Participate in design and code review sessions as appropriate
- Provide third-level support to business users.
- Keep up with current and developing engineering trends.
- Work with architects, systems analysts, project managers and other developers to efficiently implement business requirements while applying the latest available tools and technology.
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office two days a week, Tuesdays and Wednesdays with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% of the time based on business needs.
- 2+ years of work experience with an B.S/M.S/Ph.D. in an engineering/quantitative field such as Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)
- Strong knowledge of data structures and algorithms
- Experience with JAVA programming
- Experience building and consuming REST APIs
- Experience with Spring Technologies
- Open-source framework experience such as Angular, React, Spring, SpringBoot, Hibernate, JQuery, D3 etc.
- Agile development experience
- Working experience in Micro service development & API automation.
- Good to have working experience with container technologies.
- Experience with RDBMS, like DB2 and NoSQL databases like MySQL, Redis, and Cassandra
