Lead Business Analyst

Working with the Enterprise Data & Analytics (EDA) team, you will be engaged with multiple areas of the VMware business. Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?
- Within 30 days of employment, establish relationships with your peers, stakeholders and become competent in VMware’s customer analytics business model, data foundations and strategies.
- Within 60 days of employment, you will be expected to design, document, visualize and build best in class self-serve data products using BI Tools to support the Enterprise. Proficiency in various data querying & validation techniques and development expertise using BI tools is expected.
- Within 120 days, you will be the go-to person in the team for expertise in developing cross-functional data products using BI Tools. You will guide other analysts on the team and engage with the Business SME’s to drive adoption
What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?
- You will be a BI Lead working on the high-visibility Customer Journey Analytics program to build Data and Analytics Products for the Enterprise
- Technical expertise in SQL, Tableau is a must to explore, aggregate and visualize data. Experience in R/Python is strongly preferred
- Dashboard creation, report authoring and troubleshooting, data source management. Create and edit SQL queries within Tableau to build calculated fields. Create interactive filters, parameters and calculations for preparing dashboards and worksheets in Tableau.
- Project manage Data & Analytics tasks such as writing JIRA detail user stories, providing status reports, lead BI requirement gathering sessions and UAT activities
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) to guide the team through complex discussions and ability to present to the program leadership. Experienced in working with cross functional teams
- Build and publish interactive dashboards on Tableau Server. Collaborate with Data Engineering and Analysts to test, clean, and standardized data to meet the business requirements.
- Deliver reporting utilizing our BI tools (including but not limited Tableau and SAP BOBJ) to successfully transform current state reporting to improved analytic capabilities, effectively drive and improve the self-service model in the business
- Support end-to-end Business Intelligence lifecycle development processes as needed; which includes, but is not limited to capture business requirement definitions (BRD), create functional requirement definitions (FRD), technical design documents (TDD), and run user acceptance testing (UAT)

You will be part of the Enterprise Data & Analytics (EDA) team at VMware. EDA is headed by Travis Icard. Under EDA, our team would come under Cross Functional Insights Readiness & Success practice headed by Seema Singhal.
The hiring manager for this role is Varun Jandhyala, Senior Manager – Advanced Analytics and Business Intelligence. He has been with VMware for 3+ years. Flexible: This role is based in Bengaluru, India and is open to full-time remote working from any location within India
