In addition, you will take a deep dive into some specific areas of our business such as manufacturing, health and safety, quality, and continuous improvements, while also learning about the end-to-end supply chain, aftermarket parts and our remanufacturing operations. Our organization:
The Volvo Trucks North America New River Valley Plant (NRV), is the largest plant within the Volvo Group and comprises of about 3500 employees. We manufacture 100% of all Volvo trucks produced for the North American and Canadian markets and we also paint Mack Heavy Duty and Medium Duty Cabs. NRV Plant is the home of many challenges, last one being the Electric Trucks, and next one being the complete renewal of our Product, while incorporating new technology.

NRV Plant builds every step of the truck: it has a Cab Factory consisting of many robots welding cabs before they are painted. Then the Cabs are transferred to Final Assembly where they are trimmed before being installed on their chassis. Finally, the truck goes through a series of testing to make sure we deliver a high-quality truck to our customers.

Job Description:
We are now looking to strengthening our Business Control Team with a Manufacturing Business Analyst. We are looking for an ambitious and creative talent who is eager to take on challenges presented in the context of data analysis and other areas of big data management.
We are in the middle of a journey to introduce new products and technologies to the plant, to improve our performance, customer excellence and assure a bright future for Volvo and our families.

You will be experimenting and pushing the envelope with business intelligence, robotic process automation, data management, visualization, statistics, and accounting to provide new insight into operations. You will Identify valuable data sources and possibilities to link connected data into useful reports, create dashboards for actuals and estimates through Power BI to ease the process, create ways to visualize data based on business needs. You will collaborate with teams from other plants as well as our global headquarters in Sweden.

The role will give you the opportunity to develop your skills within the area of data analysis and you will play a crucial role on our journey towards Industry 4.0. Also, you will be able to get a clear and deep understanding of the business, its processes and needs associated with your competence area. You will report directly to the director of Business Control and you will be located at our plant in NRV.

Required knowledge/experience:

  • A BSc or MSc in Finance, with a second minor in Data Science
  • You have high strong mathematical skills, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Maximum two years of previous working experience, prior to or after graduation.
  • As this is a truly global program, most of your meetings and emails will be in English, hence you need to be fluent in both speaking and writing in English.
  • Valid work-permit for applied country if not citizen.
  • You have a passion for developing people, operations and product and are a communicative team player that values the full diversity of the team.
