We pave the route for our early careers talent to go far and fast with accelerated career development. By joining the 2023 Expedia Group Graduate Program (EGGP) as a Data Scientist I Analytics, you’ll complete two 6-month rotations on different teams to give you exposure to some of the many facets of our travel ecosystem. While you will be a full-time employee throughout the program, you’ll also benefit from dedicated professional and personal development opportunities during your rotations to help you identify what excites you the most about your career future. You will be aligned with a permanent role after the conclusion of EGGP in a role we call Destination Role.
EGGP Overview:
- Team Rotations: two team rotations (in the same office, within the same job profile) to build knowledge of our business, across various Expedia Group divisions. Contribute to meaningful work that makes a positive impact on travel, all while advancing your career
- Destination Role: after completing your two rotations in the program, align with your permanent Destination Role with one team aligned to your skills, interests, and position availability
- Onboarding: first week onboarding with our Early Careers team in your local office including introduction to Expedia Group and best business practices, essential new hire training, laptop set up, meeting your graduate cohort, manager, and navigator
- Launchpad (Training): in-depth, role-specific two weeks of technical and professional skills learning in a hub location (Seattle/London/Gurgaon) to help set you up for success in the program
- Learning Series: continued learning throughout your program to build technical and professional skills
- Leadership Series: opportunities to directly ask questions and learn about the career journeys of our leaders during exclusive EGGP-only Q&A events
- Social Events and Networking: build your network with other participants in the program during regular socials and join our Inclusion Business Groups
- Support Network: mentorship from a dedicated structure of managers and navigators (buddies) as well as the Early Careers and Learning & Development teams; access to Expedia Group mentoring programs

What You’ll do:
Travel is so much more than simply reaching your destination. Along the way you will make an immediate impact on reimagining travel by developing insightful reports on traveler trends which drive operational improvements in a way that serves our goal to bring the world within reach. From collaborating with internal partners and influencing business decisions, to AB testing hypotheses, there is no shortage of opportunities for technical innovation at Expedia Group – the sky’s the limit!
- You’ll identify partner teams’ key problems, prototype solutions, and help solve business problem using statistical analysis and tools
- You’ll provide ad-hoc analysis and use visualization techniques to communicate insights and recommendations
- You’ll leverage hypothesis testing to help drive key business solutions
- You’ll gain a good understanding of our domain (i.e. travel, e-commerce) & business goals and become a data specialist and the point of contact for data questions and insights
- You’ll partner with sales, product, data engineering teams to implement sustainable analytics solutions
Who You are:

- Must be available to start on January 23rd or August 21st, 2023
- Must be graduating with an undergraduate or master’s degree in a technical or analytical field (ex. Computer Science, Marketing Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Analytics, Economics) between December 2022 and July 2023
- Must have no more than 2 years’ professional experience
- Must be willing to relocate to city of job location if outside commuting distance
- Helpful to have good analytics skills and self-motivation
- Helpful to have effective communication skills and the ability to engage with a variety of partners (e.g., internal, external, technical, non-technical people
- Helpful to be able to learn and apply complex analytical techniques
- Helpful to have skills in SQL, Tableau, R, or Python
- Helpful to have experience solving problems with data querying using SQL, statistics and modelling in classes, projects or prior work experience
- Helpful to have skills to build statistical models to form the foundation of business decisions and regularly monitor the performance of those models
- Helpful to have a good understanding of machine learning and other data mining techniques to get insights
