THE MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES As a Data Analyst intern in our North American Operations organization, you will work collaboratively with our Service Assurance Team help with upgrades and maintenance of network. Tasks during the 10 weeks will aim to help resolve current issue impacting Lumen’s customer base using data research and automation. Tasks during the 10 weeks will work with large amounts of data gathered and require you to make business recommendations from insights gained by utilizing data analysis tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, Splunk and SQL. You will need a high level of engagement and ability to take initiative, ask questions, learn quickly, and work in a team environment. Other tasks may include:
- Work on a project that uses data analytics to determine the best time to perform scheduled maintenance.
- Utilize customer information, team, and network information and work with developers to set and implement framework for AI/ML scheduling.
- Working with those developers to create a roadmap WHAT WE LOOK FOR IN A CANDIDATE Education Requirements
- Enrolled at a 4-year accredited college or university- rising junior or senior level status at the start of the internship, graduating August 2023 – May 2025.
- Major/Degree: In pursuit of degree in Data Science, MIS, CIS, Data Analytics, or a related field. Proficiency and understanding of:
- Microsoft Suites
- SQL
- PowerBI experience is a plus
- Tableau experience is a plus
- Experience with Data Visualization tools is a plus
- Data Analytics experience is a plus Professional Attributes
- Ability to collaborate and have agility while making effective decisions
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Continuous improvement mindset and the ability to analyze business processes to identify process improvements and optimization
- Curious minded individual looking to resolve problems
- Self motivated
- Work Setting
- Intern must be able to work 30-40 hours be week during the 10-week program (June – August)
- Intern must have reliable internet to/from work location: remote (Lumen does not provide transportation to/from Lumen office locations)
- US work authorization
