THE MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES The Indirect segment has made a significant investment in data analytics via the Partner Data Marketplace, in order to maximize the value of this investment, we are looking to add a data scientist role to the team for the purpose of providing cutting edge thought leadership on advanced data analytics. This intern will work with the AI Strategist to understand the techniques, methods, tools that should be used to develop solutions for problems and works with the Architect (Solutions, Data) to understand data, solutions, and platforms that can be used to develop solutions. They will also create strategies for generating solutions and run quick analyses to ensure feasibility of approaches for solutions to use cases. Synthesizes the approach, data, process recommendations and provides the specs to the Pilot and Prove Team to develop proof-of-concept solutions.
- Analyze product and sales data, slice and produce reporting supporting key Indirect programs.
Developing use cases to test and drive specific business outcomes.
- Build and maintain data dashboard for real-time analytics action, including integration of Partner Data Model feeds
- Work with product team members to provide recommendations based on cutting edge thinking, as well as the latest industry trends surrounding data exploitation to drive outcomes,
including AI and ML utilizations of real-time data advancement
- Interface with peer organizations to integrate product, sales, and operational data elements into actionable intelligence for the segment
- Educate team and key stakeholder groups regarding data trends and how that data can be used cross-departmentally to drive new revenue opportunities
- Supports citizen-led AI/ML projects and upskilling training for AI/ML projects
- Follows agile methodology to develop the pilot solution to prove out the benefit of the solution for the business
- Records the specs for the data-driven insights generation process components built during the pilot so that the Executions team can operationalize WHAT WE LOOK FOR IN A CANDIDATE Required skills:
- Enrolled at a 4-year accredited college or university, rising senior or master’s level education status at the start of the internship, graduating August 2023 – June 2024
- Major/Degree: In pursuit of degree in computer science, data analytics, or related field
- Strong statistical background and understanding of advanced analytic techniques; advanced understanding/coursework in database management and math (Linear, Algebra, Calculus)
- Experience with A.I. and Machine Learning model development e.g. Neural nets, deep neural nets etc.
- Consistently informed of leading AI/ML methods and techniques along with experience in a variety of tools and platforms (R, Python, etc.)
- Proficiency in statistical data analysis and data mining packages (e. g R, Python)
- Solid programming skills in SQL, TSql, PL/SQL or similar database programming language
- Intellectual curiosity, along with excellent problem-solving and quantitative skills, including the ability to disaggregate issues, identify root causes and recommend solutions
- Nice-to-have skills:
- Experience with ETL tools (e.g. SQL Server Integration Services)
- Understanding and experience of integrating with APIs. Knowledge of standards such as REST, JSON, XML, SOAP and OAuth
- Strong object oriented programming skills (e.g. Java, JavaScript, Scala)
- Understanding of the Cloudera Big Data Stack. Hands on experience with Hive, Impala and Spark.
- Azure AI Certified
- Tool and platform know-how
- Data mining languages and packages (e.g.R, Python)
