About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Software Engineer

who will be part of a technology led innovation at an enterprise scale to transform Telemetry, Monitoring and Observability for on-prem platforms, as well as private and public cloud.

Our vision is to deliver observability capabilities to customers for consumer grade insight at competitive price utilizing open source and open standards, while modernizing to reduce cost of failure, improve availability, and optimize software engineering capacity.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead complex technology initiatives including those that are companywide with broad impact
  • Act as a key participant in developing standards and companywide best practices for engineering complex and large scale technology solutions for technology engineering disciplines
  • Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs
  • Review and analyze complex, large-scale technology solutions for tactical and strategic business objectives, enterprise technological environment, and technical challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented technical factors
  • Make decisions in developing standard and companywide best practices for engineering and technology solutions requiring understanding of industry best practices and new technologies, influencing and leading technology team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives
  • Collaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve goals
  • Lead projects, teams, or serve as a peer mentor


Required Qualifications, International:

  • Experience in Software Engineering, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:

  • 9+ years of Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 7+ years of Capacity Analytics, Big Data, Machine Learning, Time series metrics experience
  • 7+ years of experience in Java and one or more general purpose modern programming languages like Python, JavaScript, or Go
  • Deep technical understanding of core concepts, memory management, multi-threading, REST based services, React and Spring/Spring Boot.
  • 5+ years of experience in building and deploying microservices and cross channel restful API
  • 3+ years of experience with secure DevOps and deployment automation to cloud environments
  • 3+ years of experience with Cloud technologies
  • 3+ years’ experience with design and development of microservices
  • Experience in ReactJS, Spring Framework, UML, NoSQL, MariaDB, Kafka pub/sub model, ETL
  • Experience in Data analysis, Data Import and Data Feeds


Job Expectations:

  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to influence and build relationships with LOB stakeholders, technology CIO leadership, external service providers, and architecture teams
  • Experience in one or a combination of the following: Capacity Analytics, time series metrics analysis, Telemetry, Monitoring, Observability, Self Service models
  • Experience of modern software development lifecycle, including TDD, CI/CD, Pairing, Build Automations, Automated Testing, Agile Games, Chaos Engineering
  • Knowledge of agile methodologies, and product operating model
  • Knowledge and understanding of application or software security such as: web application penetration testing, secure code review, secure static code analysis, separation of duties
  • Knowledge and understanding of technology architecture: solutions development
  • Knowledge and understanding of complex enterprise systems and frameworks including frontends, middleware, services layer, database, backend, and downstream interfaces
