About This Role
Wells Fargo is seeking a Data Risk Analytics Consultant within Capital Markets Accounting Operations to support SimCorp, our primary accounting application. This team supports multiple business groups and houses the majority of companies Available for Sale, Held to Maturity and Issued Debt Securities as well as Intercompany Funding. This role ensures daily processes run smoothly, processes requests for static data modifications and coordinates requests with our technology support teams/external software vendor to support the accounting application.
In This Role, You Will
- Participate in analysis and modeling initiatives; identify opportunities for process production/data reconciliation/model documentation improvements within Risk Management
- Review/analyze programing models to extract data/manipulate databases for statistical/financial modeling; exercise independent judgment to guide new/existing projects with medium risk deliverables
- Coordinate/consolidate production of monthly/quarterly/annual performance reports for leadership decision making
- Provide recommendations to resolve data reconciliation/production/database issues
- Exercise independent judgment while developing expertise and ensuring compliance in policy governance/risk projects/regulatory/audit requests
Required Qualifications:
- 2+ years of Risk Analytics experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
- Accounting/operational investment portfolio experience
- Experience with financial instruments including one of the following: Agency MBS, government bonds, structured bonds, equities, deposits, or derivatives
- Understanding of general accepted accounting principals (GAAP)
- Experience with ticketing management systems like Jira or Service Now
- Experience with market prices linked to securities and reconciling of general ledger accounts
- Bloomberg Data License or Terminal experience
- Strong analytical skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, including Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to execute in a fast paced, high demand, environment while balancing multiple priorities
