About This Role
Wells Fargo is seeking a PLSQL Developer and Data Engineer to join the Foundational Hosting Operations (FHO) organization as it transitions its services to Infrastructure as Code (IaC). Get in on the ground floor in this exciting transformation as we embark of envisioning, designing, building, and implementing true business process automation and leading Wells Fargo technology into the future.
The FHO organization delivers maintenance to over 80,000 server assets a week in Wells Fargo. This is a significant advantage in managing risk exposure for both our application teams and customers alike. This position will be part of the Strategy team within that organization, which is responsible for creating a compelling long-term strategic vision and translating that into decisions that that deliver incremental value today.
In this role you will partner with Application Developers, ETL Developers, Data Modelers and Product Owners to design, develop, and deploy solutions. A successful candidate will utilize their strong MS SQL experience in data warehousing, data integration and data modeling to assist in the development of applications and tools that are built on modern frameworks and Cloud technologies. This position requires hands-on experience in designing, coding, debugging, troubleshooting and performance tuning, data-centric applications using SQL and MS SQL Server. This is a unique and exciting opportunity to make a huge impact on the broader FHO Technology Organization as various transformation projects are being implemented.
In This Role, You Will
- Work with Technical analysts and Business Partners to translate business and data requirements into a data warehouse model for reporting and analytics
- Analyze the existing data structures and identify the sources of incoming data to drive Source to Target Mapping with assistance from ETL Developers and Data Engineers
- Build all database objects (Tables, Relationships, Triggers, Stored Procedures, etc.)
- Build, maintain and govern all enterprise data models in defined tool
- Understand database performance factors and trends pertaining to very large database design to implement mitigating physical modeling solutions
- Define data security roles, groups and policies
- Responsible for defining and enforcing data modeling design standards, tools, best practices, and related development methodologies for the organization
- Partnering with Business Stakeholders and developers to ensure deliverables meet business expectations
- Help load or create mockup data as needed to ensure development team can continue building when lack of data is present
- Work with technical teams to deliver on commitments within time and scope
Required Qualifications,:
- 2+ years of Database Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 2+ years of MS SQL server experience: writing MS SQL Server relational database queries, stored procedures, query optimization and performance tuning
- 2+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- Experience designing and optimizing complex SQL queries involving table joins and correlated sub-queries on large scale data tables
- ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) Programming experience
- SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) experience
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with data analytics reporting
- Experience with end-to-end design and delivery of data-centric applications
- Proven experience operating as part of an Agile Scrum or Kanban Team
- PowerShell scripting experience
- Experience building and maintaining enterprise data models
- Knowledge and understanding of Wells Fargo Tools including Service Now
- Hands on experience with Azure or Google Cloud Platforms
- Ability to articulate complex concepts in a clear manner
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Thoughtful focus on driving simplicity
- Outstanding problem-solving skills
Job Expectations:
- This position is a Hybrid position with expectation of 2-3 days in office per week
