About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Quantitative Analytics Director within Risk Modeling Group (RMG) in the Corporate Risk organization.

Wells Fargo’s Risk Modeling Group develops, implements, executes, and maintains quantitative and qualitative models that serve different uses for credit, finance, and operational risk management across the enterprise.

This role resides within the Forecast Modeling team that supports risk modeling for Finance, Treasury, and Operational Risk. Models are used for various purposes such as CCAR, CECL, Capital, Asset/Liability Management, Loss Forecasting, and financial planning.

Wells Fargo’s Risk Modeling Group is responsible for performing highly complex activities related to the design, development, implementation, documentation, and on-going maintenance of quantitative models that offer insights to a wide range of product, business, or risk mitigation initiatives, utilizing advanced mathematical skills and programming to create quantitative analytical models.

In this role, you will:

  • Create and manage model development strategy.
  • Partner with technology, risk, finance, and model risk to enhancing our modeling platform and infrastructure.
  • Design best-in-class framework for implementing models and presenting model results.
  • Communicate design and results of complex models to a variety of audiences, including senior management, bank supervisors, Model Risk, Audit and LOB end users. Coordinate with business partners, and end users to ensure accurate model usage and implementation.
  • Adhere to model validation governance to ensure models are in compliance with policy and are working as intended, address model validation and regulatory feedback issues.
  • Managing in a detail oriented, results driven, quickly changing, and high demand environment while balancing multiple priorities.
  • Create and maintain a roadmap for future model development and prioritize team resources as needed.
  • Lead your team with integrity and create an environment where your team members feel included, valued, and supported to do work that energizes them.
  • Accomplish management responsibilities which include sourcing and hiring talented team members, providing ongoing coaching and feedback, recognizing, and developing team members, identifying and managing risks, and completing daily management tasks.


Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of Quantitative Analytical experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 4+ years of management experience
  • Master’s degree or higher in a quantitative discipline such as mathematics, statistics, engineering, physics, accounting, finance, economics, or computer science


Desired Qualifications:

  • Master’s or PhD in a quantitative discipline.
  • Leadership experience with ability to effectively manage, engage and mentor teams.
  • Strong personal time and project management skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong foundation in Statistical Modeling and/or Machine Learning techniques.
  • Proficiency in SQL, SAS, R, Python or Spark.
  • Familiarity with Regulatory and Model Risk expectations.
  • Familiarity with CCAR, CECL, and ALM/IRR practices.
  • Past experience migrating/implementing models to modern computing environments.


Job Expectations:

  • This position is eligible for Visa sponsorship.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
  • Willingness to work on-site at stated location on the job opening.
  • This position offers a hybrid work schedule.


Pay Range

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
$207,900.00 – $431,900.00
