Job Description
Summary Description: This position is responsible for performing analysis of Human Resources (HR) data to develop, test and deploy predictive models of internal talent and people analytics and external workforce data.
Responsibilities
- Performs predictive trend analysis of internal talent and external workforce data using key market economic and labor data in support of Whataburger’s Workforce needs.
- Serves as the Workforce Analytics Subject Matter Expert (SME) to the organization in understanding the talent needs of the organization through development of forecasting models and analytical insights.
- Provides information to Workforce and Talent Management on how to interpret data in order to turn it into actionable business outcomes.
- Partners with all levels in the organization to define and capture ongoing needs, identify relevant key metrics, and determine the most effective way to present information to support business strategies and activities.
- Defines HR and Workforce metrics that pinpoint where workforce and talent issues exist and monitors trends used to assess, plan and improve Whataburger staffing.
- Researches and identifies Key Performance Indicators and develops dashboards and contributes to the Workforce Scorecard. Implements and supports enterprise-level dashboards for workforce planning, people insights, and talent management.
- Abides by operating procedures for data management and governance, testing, and ongoing validation to maintain accuracy and integrity in our databases and systems.
- Maintains system integrity by conducting routine audits of assigned modules/systems. Corrects technical problems and deficiencies; solves escalated items.
- Collaborates with stakeholders to gather requirements, understand their needs, and design analyses. Participates in projects as needed.
- Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or other relevant area of study or any equivalent combination of education and experience required
Experience
- 2+ years’ of experience in reporting and data analytics
- 3+ years’ experience preferably in restaurant industry
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (knowledge of spreadsheet functionality: v-look up, pivot tables, charts, graphing, and other data analytics functions)
- Experience with excel modeling, Python data analysis (Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, Seaborn, Scikit Learn, Tensorflow)
- Basic SQL knowledge
- Working knowledge with Business Intelligence Systems
- Experience dashboarding with an enterprise Business Intelligence software (MicroStrategy, Power BI, Tableau)
- Proficiency in MS Office Word, Visio, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Critical thinking skills and ability to analyze and translate data into meaningful business insights or recommendations
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to assure high quality work products
- Strong issue resolution skills
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to communicate well with the general public and experience in establishing and maintaining an effective working relationship with management, vendors, and co-workers
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Advanced professional or theoretical knowledge and fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of a particular field of specialization in the execution of assigned duties and responsibilities
- Basic understanding of budgetary concepts and procedures
- Advanced understanding of departmental structure and policies with basic understanding of the cross-functional structure and policies of Whataburger Restaurants LLC
- Advanced ability to delegate tasks and get work done through others
- Ability to prepare and present information to guests, more senior associates, vendors and management with sufficient notice and preparation
