This role in summary
Whirlpool is seeking a qualified candidate for the role of Analyst, Procurement – Data Analytics, Steel to join our organization supporting Whirlpool in driving Steel market intelligence analytics and tool enhancements. This role will be located in Benton Harbor,MI. Employees in this role can work a hybrid schedule of three core days in office and two days remote. This enables employees to come together to collaborate in-person and gives employees the added flexibility to work remotely The successful candidate will work within the Procurement Data Analytics group and work closely with the Commodity Management organization as well as cross-functional partners in Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Design. In this role, you will have the opportunity to interact globally with employees from multiple Whirlpool sites across North America, South America, Europe and India.
Your responsibilities will include
- Lead Steel Market Intelligence Analytics through consolidation of multiple datasets and responsible to drive key market insights to support commodity teams globally;
- Develop managerial reports and analysis of petrochemical market dynamics, such as, but not limited to supply and demand, market prices of crude oil, chemicals, feedstocks and polymers relevant to the company;
- Lead or Support Projects related to internal processes developments or enhancements
- Be able to run several ETL analysis in different complexity databases and also correlate them in a regular way
- Lead Predictive Analysis mappings
- Elaborate cost benchmarking, best-of-best analysis, regression analysis, LPP and price analysis over time by supplier and sub-commodity
- Collaborate with commodity managers, buyers, cost modeling and engineering teams to drive total cost of ownership (TCO) optimization projects
- Develop cost driver and raw material impact analysis for assigned commodities and identify cost take out opportunities; recommend pricing strategies
- Present findings and recommendations to senior management
- Prepare fact based data packs for commodity teams to use in negotiations
- Lead / Support dashboards and data visualizations developments in Google DataStudio and Tableau
- Assist in bid analytics during RFx events, including total landed cost calculations and support in developing sourcing scenarios
- Support Complexity reduction projects and analytics (e.g. Complexity Tree)
- Track execution of savings opportunities through commodity KPIs
Minimum requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 2+ years’ experience in Procurement, Finance or Business Intelligence
Preferred skills and experiences
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Accounting, Finance or Statistics
- Procurement experience in Steel commodity
- Experience with analytical tools such as MS Excel, Google Sheets, Dashboard tools such as Google Data Studio/ Tableau and SQL.
- Strong analytical and computer related skills with ability to manipulate large data sets
- Self-driven individual, able to work with minimal direction to consistently look for opportunities
- Data consolidation & presentation skills. Ability to analyze, synthesize information from diverse sources, present findings clearly/concisely and communicate that analysis effectively to business partners
- Proven communication and presentation skills. Ability to manage / prioritize multiple key activities simultaneously
- Work cross-functionally in a diverse environment and to quickly build strong rapport and relationships with business partners, including interaction with Senior Leaders and working across multiple regions / time zones
- Familiarity with purchasing of Direct Commodities and supply chain management
- Exposure to Project Management skills
- Grow your technical abilities to become a subject matter expert
- Expertise in Google Sheets, Scripts, Data Studio & Slides, Tableau, SAP and other Business Intelligence (BI) tools
