About You !
You as a data engineer will be part of a growing team that works on data integration and orchestration of Zebra SaaS products with various data sources, such as cloud and ERP legacy systems, by using cutting edge data processing serverless technologies like Google Dataflow, Airflow and BigQuery. Our customers are spread out over many domains including retail, manufacturing, transport & logistics, and healthcare.
Responsibilities
- Designs, develops, and tests on a variety of software assignments that constitute a portion of a larger project
- Develops and tests documentation which describes the specific software functionality
- Participates and provides some input in project code reviews
- Runs software tests designed by more experienced engineers
- Reviews test results and perform root cause analyses to identify problems
- Provides recommendations and implements solutions to complex issues. Insures compliance with quality process and standards
- Makes changes to or upgrades existing software. Enhances and improves existing technologies to apply to new solutions
- Makes and implements recommendations to immediate team to enhance performance and improve productivity
- Seeks out new tools to analyze and solve problems
- Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action
- Receives general instructions on routine work, new projects or assignments
- May provide guidance to non-exempt personnel
- Builds productive working relationships internally and externally
- Primary intra-organizational with occasional inter-organizational and external customer contacts on routine matters
In a typical day you will
- Collaborate closely with our US-based Data Operations team to migrate our existing customers to new state-of-the-art data processes using Google Cloud technology.
- Develop and maintain high performance data pipelines using Google BigQuery, DataFlow, Airflow, Cloud Composer and other relational databases.
- Self-motivated approach with a drive to work on rapidly changing requirements to meet customer needs.
- Work hands-on to develop and peer review source code leading to the development of automated methods for data validation through unit and integration tests.
- Think outside-the-box to identify potential issues and raise impediments, find solution to blockers, and help resolve technical issues in time to help deliver the mission successfully.
- Continuously improve, refine, and refactor the code.
Qualifications
- U.S. Only
- Bachelor’s or Masters degree in an appropriate engineering discipline required
- Bachelors degree and 2+ years or Masters degree with no experience
- All other Regions
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in an appropriate engineering discipline required
- 2+ years experience
