About The Team
The Corporate Development and Strategy team drives Zillow’s vision by working closely with senior leaders to analyze whether we should build, buy, or partner to grow existing and potential new business opportunities. We work closely with the senior leaders across all product and business lines to provide analysis and insights on competitive threats and industry trends to help accelerate our strategy and product roadmap.
About The Role
- As a Strategy Analyst you will be a source for executives and thousands of Zillow employees looking to better understand the real estate, PropTech, and the FinTech competitive landscape and how it can form our own strategic initiatives. It’s an opportunity to sit at the nexus of investor, builder, and operator.
- You will develop a broad understanding of the real estate, PropTech, and FinTech industries and report your analysis to key executives.
- Requires curiosity, structured thinking, data & financial statement analysis, relationship building, executive presence, and presentation skills.
- You will analyze and present key trends and threats and ways Zillow can incorporate those findings to accelerate our own strategy
- Over time, your data-driven insights will bring new ideas to life in partnership with teams and leaders across the org. You will work with our teams to identify M&A and partnership opportunities. Additionally, you will work with Product and Business line leaders to help inform our strategic roadmap.
This role has been categorized as a Remote position. “Remote” employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice which must be identified to the Company. Employees may live in any of the 50 US States, with limited exceptions. In certain cases, an employee in a remote-designated job may need to live in a specific region or time zone to support customers or clients as part of their role.
In California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York City and Washington the standard base pay range for this role is $98,600.00 – $157,400.00 Annually. This base pay range is specific to California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York City and Washington and may not be applicable to other locations.
In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location.
Who you are
- BA/BS with a strong academic background
- 2+ years of total experience with a focus on strategy and operations, management consulting, investment banking, private equity, venture capital, or equity research and investing
- Financial accounting and modeling proficiency
- MS Office and Google Suite skills with an emphasis on Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Docs
- Enjoys problem structuring and possess the analytical skills to drive impactful insights
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to formulate and deliver insights around business problems in a persuasive manner by mixing storytelling and data analysis
- Ability to develop positive relationships; leading cross-functional collaboration to influence peers and executives on complex business topics
- Project management and prioritization skills.
- Comfortable performing in a fast paced, dynamic environment, leading both internal and external constituencies and working with cross-functional teams
- Passion for technology and/or real estate sectors
