About The Role
Our team is hiring interns for summer 2023! We are looking for Machine Learning Engineer interns, with an interest in web-scale distributed systems, data engineering, and machine learning algorithms, to join a growing outstanding data science and engineering group dedicated to excellence.
Here’s a brief description of the teams you may join:
The ODX (On Device eXperience) team mission is to bring more CV/ML models on devices to help us scale the generation of Rich Media eXperiences by engaging and empowering the user to provide critical input and corrective feedback using their presence in the home.
The ML & Insights team is tasked with deriving insights out of RMX 3D data to improve all possible offerings at Zillow, such as personalization, shopping, pricing, search and RMX.
As an intern you will:
- Build and improve backend systems that support current and next-generation products at Zillow.
- Research and pioneer the adoption and use of new technologies, in order to define an outstanding tech stack to lead us to success.
- Write highly performant code in a fast-paced, high-quality environment.
- Collaborate with a team of scientists and engineers to build a computer vision platform for extracting geometric and semantic information from real estate photos
- Develop algorithms and models for solving novel and exciting computer vision problems
- Work hands-on in technical feature development, design and code-reviews, and prototyping
- Use machine learning tools to build an application that has a direct impact on customers.
This role has been categorized as a Remote position. “Remote” employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice which must be identified to the Company. Employees may live in any of the 50 US States, with limited exceptions. In certain cases, an employee in a remote-designated job may need to live in a specific region or time zone to support customers or clients as part of their role.
In Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada and New York City the standard base pay range for this role is $94,000.00 – $140,000.00 Annually. This base pay range is specific to Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada and New York City and may not be applicable to other locations.
In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location.
Who you are
- You are in the process of completing an MS or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Data Science, or a related field, and have at least one more semester of school after completing your internship
- Anticipated graduation date between December 2023 and June 2024
- Strong algorithms & coding knowledge
- You are able to write code and working regularly in Python, R, or Scala
- You communicate efficiently on technical challenges and solutions
- You would like to apply modern open-source Big Data technologies such as Apache Hadoop and Spark, the foundation of our ML platform
- Experience coding on Linux or other Unix OS platforms is strongly preferred.
- Hands-on experience with deep-learning frameworks, like PyTorch or Tensorflow
