Interested in a startup experience? We’re scaling fast at Zip (YC S2020)! Zip is tackling the $50B+TAM space to transform the way businesses manage spend. We started Zip because we saw the challenges companies had using outdated 20 year old software to manage hundreds of millions of dollars every year. We are a small but mighty team that helped scale category-defining companies like Airbnb, Facebook, Salesforce, Apple, Quora, Pinterest, and Square.
We graduated from YC as part of the S20 batch. We’ve raised $43 million in Series B funding – led by YC Continuity (Y Combinator) with participation from Tiger Global and CRV – bringing Zip’s valuation to $1.2 billion in 18 months. We’re growing quickly and need your help: we launched in early 2020 and are growing by 40+% every month. We’ve most recently been featured on YC Top Companies list!
Zip is looking for a Senior Analyst on the go-to-market (GTM) team to help us scale our sales, marketing, success, and implementation functions by generating valuable insights that inform how we should grow. Our go-to-market teams will have grown from <20 to 100+ in 2022 alone, showcasing how enthusiastic the market has responded to our product. With customers such as Coinbase, Snowflake, Notion, Canva, Samsara, and Databricks, we’re empowering some of the most iconic companies in their growth journeys by helping them buy, invest, and thus innovate faster. Analytics at Zip is a strategic function that will partner-cross functionally with all customer facing teams and interface with all of Zip’s leaders.
You will:
- Partner with our entire go-to-market leadership team and broader leadership team to ensure we always have a pulse on the health of our business
- Become the expert on Zip’s most important go-to-market KPIs, helping us become a function known for making data-driven, informed decisions
- Build the foundational elements of our data infrastructure and strategy, so we can scale out world class analytics
Preferred Qualifications
We don’t have strict requirements, so if you believe you qualify and can do the job, we encourage you to apply. However, the qualifications below should give you a flavor of the role, and could be an advantage in our interview process.
- 2+ years working in an analytical role – where your primary role was working with data on a day-to-day basis to generate insights for your stakeholders
- Ability to write complex SQL; wizard in Excel/Google Sheets or Python are a nice to haves
- Experience with business intelligence (BI) tools, building out important company dashboards
- Thinks about where the data comes from, not just how it is. Thinks about how the data should be and how to get there, not just what it looks like now.
- Excellent communicator who can distill the complex data into seemingly simple stories
- Experience working at a B2B SaaS company, where you have some familiarity with the key metrics that SaaS companies care about
- Startup experience – knowing that urgency, doing the “dirty work”, and a little bit of chaos are core parts of the startup ethos
