Under limited supervision the Business Intelligence Systems Analyst provides support for all Business Intelligence initiatives regarding our data systems and report development. The Analyst will determine internal and external customer requirements, perform complex research and analysis and provide solutions to improve performance.
In addition, the Systems Analyst will:
- Create and support complex SQL queries and perform in depth analysis
- Create and maintain complex ETL processes using SSIS packages and SQL Agent Jobs
- Create streamlined tables and views containing indexes
- Reviews and maintains Stored Procedures and SQL functions
- Create and maintain a robust data dictionary for each database
- Develop effective reporting methods and participates in efforts to continually improve data collection and analysis.
- Analyze discrepancies in existing reports, makes recommendations and completes updates.
- Create, maintain and review documentation of reports and solutions.
- Consistently meet assigned project deadlines and goals.
- Perform work in a dynamic environment with changing priorities.
- Collaborate with business units, vendors and technical staff to achieve business results.
- Participate in Agile methodologies of Scrum, Stand ups and Sprints
Requirements:
Bachelorโs Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Statistics, Data Science or related field is required. Five plus years of related experience in programming, business analytics projects, application implementation or database management Strong attention to detail and excellent technical and communication skills are mandatory. Financial service industry experience a plus.
In addition, successful candidates will have:
- Strong analytical skills, provides out-of-the-box solutions for problems or difficulties.
- Ability to operate with an analytical, data-driven mindset to derive actionable insights from data.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- In-depth knowledge of databases and other research tools used to gather and interpret member/market data.
- Extensive SQL programming experience
- Data visualization experience preferred, using programs such as Power BI and/or SSRS
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills with both technical and non-technical staff.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to make advanced analytics concepts accessible to non-technical team members.
