About The Role
Our software team is growing rapidly and we are looking for talented engineers to join our growing, agile, world-class team. Agility Robotics is growing its cloud presence and is looking for a tech lead for the data team. This is a new team that is going to be the basis for ingestion, storage, management, access, and retrieval of data generated by robots and other services created. Key projects include ingesting the data logs from the distributed robot fleet, creating services to be able to access and analyze the data, connecting the data from manufacturing to robots in the field, and creating access controls for the data for us, customers, and 3rd party vendors.
About The Work
- Develop applications that run in the cloud and on prem
- Own the development of infrastructure and services for data
- Work cross functionally with embedded, cloud, and customer teams
- Build and maintain data lakes and warehouses through the data lifecycle
- Set the technical direction for the team
- Provide technical leadership for a team of data and software engineers
About You
- At least 6 years of experience in a data engineer or related role
- Expertise in developing on AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Leads projects involving multiple teams
- Excited about building services and data flows in a greenfield environment
- Likes to build ETL pipelines
- Builds/supports services with data intensive workloads
- Experience as a team or tech lead
- Experience building highly available, high reliability systems
- Authorization to work in the USA
Bonus Points
- Engineering Manager (EM) or Tech Lead Manager (TLM) experience
- Experience building a team
- Experience with Hybrid deployments (On Prem + Cloud)
- Experience with Kafka, Kinesis, RabbitMQ or similar
- Experience with Spark or similar
- Experience in greenfield application development
- Experience with Robotics, IoT, or similar distributed device environments
