Our Amazon Kinesis team is looking for software engineers who thrive on creative problem solving and enjoy the challenge of operating mission critical, multi-tenant at massive scale. In this role, you will dive into problems to invent simple and elegant solutions. You will deliver cutting edge software and services that power Kinesis Streams and drive its availability and performance guarantees that all customers depend on.
To be successful in this role, you must care deeply about customer experience and focus on building performance that offers easy-to-use interfaces to customers. Never settling for status quo, you drive engineering best practices and constantly look for ways to make the things you own better. On-Call Responsibility
This position involves on-call responsibilities, typically for one week every three months. We don’t like getting paged in the middle of the night or on the weekend, so we work to ensure that our systems are fault tolerant. When we do get paged, we work together to resolve the root cause so that we don’t get paged for the same issue twice.

About the team
The Kinesis Data Streams team in Seattle and Santa Monica is a brand new one, focused on delivering some key features to shape AWS’ real-time streaming roadmap over the next few years. You’ll fit in great here if you enjoy solving complex problems, care deeply about the customer impact of your work, hold a high bar for the maintainability of software you ship, and have a relatively high tolerance to terrible puns and word-play.
- 2 years of software experience – including understanding of best coding practices including , unit testing, and peer code-reviews
