Position Description:

As a Computer Vision Engineer II/III, you will be responsible for working within the framework of a team and performing the following activities:

  • Research, prototype and iterate algorithmic solutions for medical imaging segmentation, registration, and reconstruction problems for surgical applications
  • Develop, implement, and deploy state-of-the-art machine vision algorithms and image-based metrics for real-time analysis
  • Understand clinical requirements and develop technical solutions
  • Design, prototype, and implement user-facing software and computer vision/medical image analysis algorithms

Position Requirements:

This position requires the following skills and attributes:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or related engineering field with an emphasis on machine vision, or relevant experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience or any equivalent education and/or experience from which the following skills and abilities have been demonstrated:

    • Good analytical skills and a solid foundation in mathematics.
    • Deep understanding of and hands-on experience in state-of-the-art (medical) image analysis algorithms, machine learning and deep learning.
    • Strong development skills using C++ and/or Python (and the desire to learn new tools).
    • Experience in one or more areas: volumetric image segmentation, semantic image segmentation, medical image registration, image reconstruction, camera calibration, or computer vision.
    • Experience applying machine learning algorithms to solve a wide range of optimization problems like deep learning with images, natural language, object segmentations, or object detection.
    • Experience with deep learning frameworks, such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras, etc.
    • Experience with data science and computer vision libraries, including NumPy, SciPy, Matplotlib, Scikit-learn, ITK, VTK, and OpenCV.
    • Good understanding and experience of Object-Oriented Design and Programming.

Preferred:

  • Experience with medical image analysis and/or medical application
  • Experience or knowledge of estimation, navigation and sensor fusion
  • Experience with streaming of images and real-time image analysis
  • Experience with computer graphics and visualization
  • Experience with using Database servers like MySQL, SQL Server, etc.
  • Experience with cloud services such as AWS, Azure, and GCP
