Data Analyst – Australia Data
Role Location – RMZ Ecoworld, Bangalore
Role Type – FTE, 4.3

The Australia Data tribe sits within our Australia Retail & Commercial division and our mission is to combine business & technology capabilities to enable analytics, reporting & data asset development by users across ANZ’s Australia Retail & Commercial division.
As a Data Analyst, you deeply understand the power of data to generate quality customer insight, manage information, identify trends and make decisions.
This role is responsible for developing, nurturing and growing analytics capability across the tribe, building and fostering a strong data driven culture. Also ensuring knowledge sharing, learning, training, up-skilling, career development, and standards / governance / QA are embraced and adopted.
What will your day look like
Address and solve complex business issues using large amounts of data
Have a clear understanding of the end-to-end analytics journey as well as define and deliver the data roadmap
Implement a fact-based culture throughout the bank.
Support key data platform and/or data scheduling jobs to support insights delivery to key audiences (e.g. frontline, other tribes)
Lead, optimise, design and execute business interventions (customers and operational) to uplift customer engagement and business performance
Source data from a variety of sources to combine, synthesise and analyse to generate insights
Continuous generation, monitoring, presenting and conducting of ‘fact-based’ analysis of relevant customer insights to use at any time for the development and improvement of relevant and innovative propositions
Generate, monitor, present and analyse relevant customer insights, costs, benefits, and risks for customers, clients and cohort products; this could include business casing, what if scenarios and opportunity sizing & assessments
Develop tools and methods to fully profile customers and customer segments
What will you bring?
7+ years experience in data analytics with strong relevant experience as Data Analyst.
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Strong SQL skills and experienced in creating data products / dashboards in Tableau and or QlikSense.
Strong data visualisation skills and and ability to translate data insights into practical business recommendations
Good understanding of concepts in applied probability and statistics
Good quantitative programming skills in Python
Proficient with Jupyter Notebooks
Analytical and inquisitive mindset to continuously improve the level of insight surfaced
Ability to effectively communicate to all stakeholders (technical and non-technical)

Data Mining / Sourcing Skills – Strong analytics capabilities to identify market opportunities using statistical & modelling Techniques
Problem Solving – Comprehensive understanding of a range of problem solving techniques
Market / Industry Knowledge – Builds on domain knowledge base
Influence & Relationship Building – Uses an understanding of others’ point of view and empathy to gain buy-in to develop existing relationships and help build new ones
Data Visualisation and story telling – Key understanding of the business strategy and implications on Data and Analytic needs ; Ability to story-tell through Visualisations
Financial/ Business/ Commercial/ Market Acumen – An understanding of Banking and the products, markets, industries, channels and customer segments dimensions and awareness of scenarios modelling optimisation Opportunities
