Power BI – Developer
ASSA ABLOY group has seen a high increase in usage of Power BI in recent years. We have started work on formalizing a global Center of Excellence team to better coordinate and support the activities out in the organization. An additional capability to this is also to be able to support Central functions like e.g. Finance and Global IT to become a more data-driven organization taking the data to be presented in a visual appealing way with the use of Power BI.
About the role
As a Power BI Developer you will work closely with our stakeholders to quickly understand their needs and requirements to be able to develop the needed reports, dashboards based on well-thought-out models and best practices.
You’ll be working with integrations not only towards traditional data warehouses and data lakes, but also directly from the source systems and thereafter visualizing the data with Power BI to achieve a great user experience.
In some cases you could also be responsible for server operations and maintenance to existing data warehouse solutions that we provide to the Business Divisions and internally within IT.
You will be a role model and share your expertise in data visualization and tools with peers across the company through community activities such as virtual teams and trainings. Since we are scaling up self-service capabilities for relevant centralized data, we need to make data easily available by creating user friendly data sources that can be used by everyone.
We are on an exciting journey, building up this capability within our CoE to be able to utilize the Power BI platform as its best together. You will become an important part of the growth of this Team with focus on Power BI.

Responsibilities
- Alignment of technical/solution architecture with agreed standards and policies.
- Continuously define, build and manage solutions that supports our business.
- Drive, design in an iterative way the business proposals into viable solutions
- Play an active role in the community of users and BI developers and produce material that will guide and help them.
- Take part of proof-of-concept initiatives with the business and suggest solution designs that involves Power Apps, Power BI and Azure services in a hybrid world.
- Help identify and troubleshoot performance issues
- Work closely with support as an escalation point.
Required skills
- 3+ years’ experience working with datasets, dataflows and report creation in Power BI.
- Deep knowledge in DAX and/or Power Query
- Knowledge of Report optimization techniques
- Experience working with Incremental Refresh, DirectQuery, Composite Models
- Good experience working with SQL Server/Azure SQL Database and knowledge of database modelling
- Experience of creating Stored Procedures, Triggers, and views.
- Experience of SSIS, Scheduling Jobs etc.
- A genuine desire to learn and grow in the area of enterprise/self-service analytics and low- /no-code
- A good understanding of enterprise operational systems and business intelligence
- An interest in community building and supporting and helping others
- Ability to communicate with both technical and business users
- Ability to communicate well in English, both verbally and in writing
Desirable skills
The ideal candidate also brings some of the following:
- A good understanding of the broader Microsoft cloud eco-system (Microsoft 365, Azure)
- Experience from Power Apps/Dynamics 365 and/or Power Automate.
- PowerShell skills
- Experience of development in Qlik Sense
- Have worked with/have an interest in Big Data and Data Lakes
- Experience of Development Qlik Sense
- Passed Power BI exams such as 70-778/9 or PL-300/600.
