Job Location: Concord, CA

Job Description:
The Data Analyst will require hands-on technical skills in designing, developing, and implementing solutions that transforms raw data into usable information and deliver high quality application solutions to our stakeholders. The Data Analyst should be able to identify, wrangle data and transform into formats that can be easily analyzed. Assist in development, testing, and maintenance of data intensive applications. Provide continuous improvement efforts to enhance data transformation and data manipulation methodologies to support information systems based on the business needs.
The ideal candidate should have the ability to grasp and learn in a fast-growing environment and work as a key member of the delivery team.
We can consider candidates for this position who are able to accommodate a hybrid work schedule and are close to any of our office locations in either Concord, CA; Encino, CA; Atlanta, GA.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform analytical and technical tasks to execute projects requiring data collection, analysis, extensive research and help develop data rich applications following guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Data preparation and development activities encompass both relational databases (primarily MS SQL Server) as well as Big Data technologies that are both on prem and on the cloud.
  • Gather and understand business requirements – translate and use complex data sources that needs to be blended, cleaned, structured, and enriched into a desired output for analysis and consumption.
  • Build effective, high performant data systems and pipelines
  • Comfortable in taking initiative to collaborate and bring clarity to ambiguous requirements.
  • Follow software development best practices (learning automated unit testing, CI/CD, version control (git), change management practices, and DevSecOps)
  • Ability to be thriving in cross functional and geographically distributed teams.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of big data concepts and common components including Spark and multiple languages (Java, Scala, Python, R) and integration with consumption tools.
  • Experience using Git/Devops practices
  • Knowledge of database security practices
  • Experience in trouble shooting and resolving issues with existing systems
  • Experience designing high performing database queries / indexes and troubleshooting database performance issues.
  • Critical thinking, problem solving, performance tuning, decision making and analytical skills
  • Understanding of software skills such as business analysis, development, maintenance and software improvement
  • Kafka (or other MQ technologies)
  • Azure experience – data bricks, data factory
  • Exposure to reporting and business intelligence tools like Tableau, powerBI
  • Facilitation/presentation experience and ability to properly communicate with business and technical audience
  • Understanding the importance of end-to-end software development, with an emphasis on Agile development methodology.
  • Good grasp of Fintech applications.
  • Knowledge of leading database or Big Data development teams
Education and Experience:
  • Undergraduate degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science or similar disciplines, preferred
  • 1+ years of practical hands-on experience including ETL and SQL
  • 1+ years of programming languages like Python, R, Scala
  • 1+ years of Spark development, preferred
