Hybrid Working

We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. We’re flexible on how this works and it may continue to change and evolve. Depending on your team, typically this means that colleagues spend a minimum of between 20% to 60% of their time in the office, which could be over a week, a month or a quarter. However, some colleagues may choose to spend more time in the office over a typical period than their role type requires. We also have a flexible working process where, subject to business needs, all colleagues globally are able to request work patterns to reflect their personal circumstances These requests will be reviewed and agreed for a period of time i.e., will have a start and end date.

Introduction:
CB&P COO provides strategic and Subject Matter Expert (SME) direction and governance regarding the delivery of Processes, Technology, Operations and Programme Management for the Risk, Finance and Treasury functional groups
What will you be doing?
- Support the relationship with the Data Domain business teams to ensure data standards are part of the domains BAU operating model
- Support monthly Data Forums and Council meetings preparations
- Escalate issues through the reporting line to Group Data Councils and assist in the remediation
- Work closely with subject matter experts within the business, technology and operations functions to ensure compliance to the data standards including identification and resolution of data quality issues.
- Work alongside other Chief Data Office teams to ensure consistency of approach and front-to-back lineage being delivered including business benefit articulation
- Support data governance and quality assurance activities
- Provide project updates and report on progress on data quality and control remediation activities
- Work closely with delivery lead and functional leadership team to understand Barclays data domains and contribute to Data Lineage program.
- Understanding of Barclays control framework/environment for data to be produced and consumed in a way that drives continuous improvement of data management and quality.
- Understanding of Barclays Risk and Control Framework (RCSA) and proactively manage program/project risks with appropriate remedial plan before they become issues.
- Ensure all solutions adhere to Barclays policies and standards. Ensure team members are adhering to all compliance policies such data security, mandatory trainings etc.
- Support monthly Data Forums and Council meetings preparations
- Escalate issues through the VP reporting line to Group Data Councils and assist in the remediation
- Support the C&P business in managing existing and new Data Domains, sub-data domain and Critical Data Elements under the C&P ownership
- Support maintenance of business glossary for Data Domains and Critical Data Elements (CDEs) via the running of annual attestation
- Support the ADS identification and adoption activities across Cards and Payments
- Work alongside Data Architecture teams to help identify and track migration of C&P processes to the Authoritative Data Sources
- Support delivery plans of the Data Lineage & Metadata team
- Support identification and resolution of data lineage issues, supporting the analysis and creation of remediation plans in partnership with BAU teams
- Support annual attestation activities of critical data flows
- Support/provide inputs for Data Governance Forums
- Support data quality issue & measures related activity in partnership with domain data
- Maintain repository of measures aligned to issues impacting business areas
- Monitor, track and report on status of data quality issues recorded
- Maintain catalogue of reference material to facilitate issue management
- Support/provide inputs for Data Governance Forums
What we’re looking for:
- Bachelors/Masters with background in Investment Banking and Finance.
- Relevant work experience 5-10 years in some or all of the skills below
- Past experience in data management activities – particularly discharging CDO accountabilities corresponding to data governance, data lineage, data quality, data delivery. Good understanding global risk and regulation standards like Basel – II, III, BCBS 239, MiFID II, GDPR etc. and hands on implementation of CDO activities around them.
- Visible and Experienced in working with mid-management stakeholder. Comfortable working up to including peers, delivery leads, functional leads to various business lines. Provide technical solution guidance/directions to other colleagues and junior team members.
- Broad knowledge of Data Management and/or Governance, Data Lineage, Data Quality, Metadata Management. Proficiency in one or more data management/governance tools – Ab Initio, Barclays Data Platform etc.
- Hands-on experience in running various methods like Data Lineage, Data Profiling, Identification of Data Errors and Produce/Publish updates through dashboard. Industry experience in building and operationalizing various Data Management and/or Governance solutions in banking and finance domain.
- Experience working with large data sets in order to extract business insights
- Good to have SQL and VBA Macro
- Nice to have knowledge on JIRA or any workflow tools, Dashboard tools
