Your opportunity
BDO Canada is looking for a Machine Learning Engineer to join our I&C Team, and, while working from anywher e in Canada, o wn the following responsibilities:
- Design, develop and deploy a secure, reliable, robust, and scalable software platform for Machine Learning services in high availability and low latency.
- Work with Data scientists to collaborate on leveraging algorithm components to build the solution and product.
- Optimize Machine Learning software components to exploit modern parallel architectures such as distributed clusters, multicore SMPs, and GPUs.
- Deploying ML models into production environments and maintaining them over time.
- Monitoring performance of deployed models and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Take responsibility for end-to-end development with high standards on software design, coding, code reviews, tests, and automation of deployment within CI/CD disciplines (E.g., ARM Templates).
- Work closely with AI Architects, project/program managers to understand the customers’ needs and their business problems.
- Staying up to date with latest technologies and best practices in machine learning.

Your experience and education
- Industry experience in software development, machine learning operations or platform engineering.
- 3+ Years of experience in:
- At least one modern programming language such as Python, Java, JavaScript, and C/C++.
- Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Redis, Cassandra, Kubernetes, Kubeflow / container technologies (e.g., Azure ML, ML Flow).
- Software development with expertise in some of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented software design, OS & computer architecture, networks, databases, etc.
- Developing software with high scalability, performance, and reliability.
- developing in cloud platforms, server platforms, or data platforms.
- Development experience in a cloud service environment such as Amazon AWS, MS Azure, and Google Cloud Platform
- Strong research capabilities, problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly scientific data to different stakeholders.
- BS/MS/Ph.D. degree in Computer Science and Engineering or strong industry experience in software development.
