POSITION PURPOSE :
The Data Visualization Engineer will work closely with business partners, product management, and data delivery to design and develop data visualizations to the organization to support internal and external programs and initiatives. This position is responsible for dashboard quality through the full development life cycle, including implementation and production support. This position ensures that all business intelligence development best practices, standards and guidelines are being followed.
Accountable for complying with all laws and regulations associated with duties and responsibilities.

Necessary Contacts :
To do this job effectively the incumbent has to be in contact with all levels of BCBSLA personnel.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Bachelorโs degree in information technology, business or related field. Four years of related experience can be used in lieu of a degree.
2 years of professional business intelligence analysis experience to develop an understanding of reporting and analytics required.
Must have knowledge of MS SQL Server, data warehousing, and other database technologies.
Working knowledge of business intelligence tools and platforms such as Tableau, PowerBI, or similar tools.
Must have experience working with enterprise level customers.
Proven verbal and written communications skills combined with strong interpersonal skills are needed to interact professionally with a diverse group that includes Subject Matter Experts, technical and non-technical business users, management, IT technical/programming staff, external vendors and others as needed to deliver business intelligence reports and dashboard.
Must be able to clearly and concisely communicate system and business requirement information to all levels of internal and external customers.
Proven ability to learn new technology while managing multiple, high-priority tasks.
Previous experience with business intelligence training, presentations, and/or user groups preferred.
ACCOUNTABILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
Identifies data visualization solutions for internal clients by meeting with users to gain an understanding of their business purpose and information needs. Designs and develops data visualization dashboards utilizing business and technical requirements.
Provides data visualization support to ensure the availability and performance of the enterprise environments.
Troubleshoots and conducts root cause analysis with business users, data visualization staff and others as needed. Works with the team to determine the best course of action to improve operations and eliminate recurring problems.
Guides and directs end user to solutions which adhere to business intelligence best practices, standards and guidelines.
Works with business stakeholders and data warehouse teams to develop, document and maintain business/technical requirements including dashboard requirements.
Provides frequent status and action plan updates to internal and external stakeholders, including upper management.
May provide assistance and training to other staff members.
Understands departmental goals and objectives and delivers work products to contribute to those goals.
