Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for an Associate Methods Process Analyst to support the 737 Military Derivative P-8 submarine hunter aircraft and AEW&C aircraft in Tukwila, WA.

This position is focused on the integration of military equipment installation into the aircraft.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain barchart for production line.

  • Retrieve, analyze, and post metrics daily to One Boeing Production System Tier Board.

  • Perform recovery planning, headcount forecast and Earned Value Management detail as needed.

  • Conducts analysis of current and future business environment using established guidelines. (General analysis requests as needed)

  • Develops forecast, acquisition, and utilization plans to optimize resources in support of company initiatives and program business plans under the guidance of experienced analysts. (Headcount and equipment forecasting and capital planning).

  • Develops and maintains basic Business System factory definition to be used for manufacturing planning. Contributes to the development of labor hour estimates for new or revised production and tooling work packages under the guidance of experienced analysts. (Estimates at Completions, Precedence Networking, equipment requirements).

  • Monitors performance to established labor hour estimates. (Weekly financial and schedule Earned Value Management monitoring/reporting).

  • Under the guidance of experienced analysts, assists in the development of integrated tool and production master schedules by developing tool and position plan/documents, tool downtimes, rate flow plans, #1 flows, and tool sequencing plans to maximize the efficiency of equipment, material and personnel. (Alignment of the Master Schedule provided by Integrated Planning and Scheduling into the production system schedule for your statement of work)

  • Assists in the identification and implementation of improvements to processes by analyzing current processes and utilizing established improvement methodologies to maximize the efficiency of equipment and personnel and to support company improvement initiatives. (Technician Time on Product, efficiency opportunities, reduction of traveled work, Balancing the Line)

  • Under guidance of experienced analyst, analyzes changes to approved plans resulting from unplanned events. (Recovery Planning, Overtime requirements, balancing work between workcenter bars)

  • Assesses the impact of the changes that occur to cost, schedule, resources, and delivery. Analyzing impacts to the production system Key Performance Indicators)

  • Develops modifications to existing plans and obtain approval. (Work with Manufacturing Engineering and support submittal of change requests or changes to job locations)

  • Participates in negotiations representing Production and Tooling Operations to support schedule commitments or statement of work impacts. (Provide schedule for tools for preventative maintenance cycles)

  • Under the guidance of more experienced analysts, develops, implements, maintains, and statuses complex integrated shop operating plans to maximize the efficiency of equipment and personnel and to reduce inventory and meet cost and schedule commitments. (Report and Support production system improvements)

  • Gathers and analyzes shop performance metrics in order to support a recommend plan of action for Production.

This position may fill a number of needs in the Tukwila area within Boeing Defense, Space & Security.


This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.


The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.


Basic Qualifications (Required
Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher

  • 1+ year of experience working directly in a production environment

  • Lean manufacturing experience

  • Experience with scheduling tools (e.g. Aurora, MS Project, etc.)

  • Experience using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a technical field

  • Experience leading projects

  • Experience with Aurora or other constraint based scheduling tool

  • Experience with Python / Tableau

  • Shop load experience in a production environment

Typical Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree and typically 3 or more years’ related work experience, a Master’s degree and typically 1 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
