Job Detail:
This is a remote position that could be based anywhere in the United States or Canada.
Calix is seeking a highly motivated, talented and technically strong engineering intern with a focus on machine learning and data science areas. We are looking for students to work remotely in the US or Canada full-time for the summer months. The right candidate will be part of an exciting initiative building out Calix Intelligent Cloud services. The intern will be working with a seasoned team to craft solutions for various challenges in analysis, modeling and productizing data science use cases. The duration of the program is expected to be 90 days.
Responsibilities And Duties
- Perform data exploration and data analysis.
- Research and evaluate state of the art ML technology stack.
- Build components for data injection, cleaning, enrichment and query.
- Automate infrastructure for ML training and serving.
- Develop and enhance ML pipelines.
- Collect and analyze data and model metrics.
- Monitor production pipelines.
Qualifications
- Solid foundation in data structure and algorithms.
- Coding experience in any major languages: Python/Java/C/C++.
- Relevant courses and projects on Data Science and Machine Learning.
- Strong interest in large scale data processing.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Exposure to data processing or machine learning frameworks.
- Undergraduate senior and beyond.
Preferred Qualifications
- Produced software that is deployed for multiple users.
- Used SQL and NoSQL databases beyond course assignments.
- Built and deployed services on public clouds: AWS, GCP, AZure.
- Working towards advanced degrees in computer science or similar fields.
