Position Description
Business Analysts are the drivers behind our continued growth and success. CGI, a leader in providing IT Systems Integration and Consulting Services to its clients is seeking a business analyst with 3-5 years of experience in the IT Industry. This is an exciting opportunity to work with CGI’s East BU Public Sector team. We use technical expertise and secure solutions to help government reinvent the ways of working to improve citizen services. Our work helps civil entities provide services clearly and with fewer resources.
Your future duties and responsibilities
Evaluate, identify and validate clients’ business needs and requirements
Lead requirements workshops/JAD sessions to identify business needs and requirements
Document current business processes, business flows, rules and artifacts, and propose changes/updates accordingly.
Produce detailed written documentation, including business requirements documents, functional design documents, use cases and requirements traceability matrices, training documentation, user guides, and executive level presentations
Lead and/or participate in Unit/System Testing & overall Quality Control efforts
Excellent client interaction skills in support of formal requirements capturing sessions (e.g., JAD sessions), as well as informal requirements sessions (e.g., one-on-one potentially with senior level staff)
Prototyping user interface designs
Lead user testing and training sessions
Meet tight project time-lines according to release schedules
Leading and advancing issues/risks for resolution
Experience with crafting and interpreting SQLs
Provide production support for functionality in production
Ability to evaluate project changes to resolve impact to clients’ needs
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related Field.
Ability to travel to Trenton min 2-3 days a week.
3-5 years previous Business Analysis experience
Excellent analytical and organizational skills
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Experience with office efficiency tools (e.g., Visio, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and groupware applications (e.g., Microsoft SharePoint)
Proven client interaction skills in support of end users
Experience working with Relational Database software (e.g. Microsoft SQL Server)
Experience with unit and system testing sessions
Experience with training end users
Experience with disaster recovery
Desired Skills:
Experience with federal funding and associated requirements
CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to: skill set level; experience and training; and licensure and certifications. CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $70,800 – 123,800.
