Functional Business Analyst/Tester (Jr/Mid)

Position Description

We are looking for a talented individual with a keen eye to details and willingness to expand their skills to join our application development team. You will work closely with the Product Owner and other development team members to create business requirements and user stories, and perform analysis throughout the SAFe lifecycle. This position would suit a dynamic, innovative and enthusiastic business analyst/tester with a proven track record not only in delivering quality documentations and applications, but also in providing excellent customer service. We work in a very collaborative environment where excellent communication skills are needed. The successful candidate has an understanding of the Medicare provider needs and facilitate the co-design of touchpoints and experiences that address the end-to-end journey of the customer across both digital and offline channels.

Your future duties and responsibilities

  • Identify and validate clients’ business needs and requirements
  • Attend requirements gathering meetings with the client to identify business needs, functional and system requirements
  • Perform testing (e.g, smoke, regression, functional), when needed
  • Analyze and develop mockups based on business understanding. Prototype user interface designs using Visio, Excel and/or other design tools
  • Produce concise, accurate requirements documentation, requirements/user stories, acceptance test criteria. Take meeting minutes. Document and track action items to closure.
  • Onboard and train new stakeholders.
  • Provide helpdesk support.
  • Collaborate with the development and testing team to ensure implementation of the needed business, functional and system requirements
  • Provide regular and open communication across the program and stakeholders for transparency and awareness of progress and impediments.
  • Understand, visualize and manage upstream/downstream dependencies.
  • Drive delivery and continuous improvement by utilizing feedback and metrics (quality, delivery rate, etc.) to identify areas of opportunity.
  • Assist the PO with program level coordination, such as creating timelines, milestones, and cadence of increments and releases and oversee the development of reports and analyses that document program activity.
  • Participate with management and cross-functional teams as subject matter expert to develop and improve operating policies and procedures related to user workflows and be an advocate for user community.
  • Develop / modify processes, policies, and procedures to facilitate the working relationship between CGI and its clients.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role

  • 2+ years of requirements elicitation and requirements writing experience working with various groups and individuals.
  • 2+ years working in an Agile environment on complex projects.
  • Experience with UI and API testing (e.g, smoke, regression, functional) and automated testing.
  • Strong analytical skills and innovative thinking. Strong attention to details.
  • Experience with creating and maintaining processes.
  • Experience with coordinating with multiple teams and stakeholders in a technology environment.
  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills for the purpose of providing and explaining functional and project related information to clients, vendors, senior management and staff.
  • Proven ability to balance multiple concurrent activities in a fast paced environment with the ability to work autonomously and independently. Strong time management, communication, and organizational skills required.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong experience with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
  • Experience with APIs strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Jira and Confluence.
  • Experience with onboarding stakeholders, providing user training and help desk support experience a plus.
  • Product Owner experience a plus.
