The Business Analytics Coder will provide expert content for data measurement and reporting projects by using various tools for provider data profiling and analytics related to the compliance reporting environment. The incumbent will work closely in a team setting with the product owner(s) to meet business deliverables. The right candidate will have a passion for discovering solutions hidden in large data sets and working with stakeholders to improve business outcomes.
This position is a SAS programmer role responsible for writing queries to extract data from CPF, HCPM and other sources, including mapping to previously built crosswalks and other supporting files. The candidate will have the ability to write complex, efficient SAS code to extract large data sets in a short amount of time and derive data that we do not house in our system based on logic provided from the business analyst.
Responsibilities
Produce standardized, accurate, and efficient SAS/SQL programs to extract and derive data per detailed requirements in order to deliver state filing results
Debug and make queries reusable
Collaborate with Business Analyst teammates and other Provider Data query writers within the Network Quality Department to deliver state filing results and serve as a peer reviewer and implementing improvements to queries.
Continually strive to enhance and improve existing queries and their own skills by demonstrating initiative to participate in ongoing coaching and training
Utilize independent judgment and discretion, identify data quality issues, and provides recommendations for adjustment.
Able to prioritize and multi-task work.
Facilitate team conference calls as required by management.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree or advance degree preferred.
Experience with Structured Query Language (SQL) procedure as a data retrieval tool required. Specifically, the ability to write programs, to perform queries on data and retrieve data from multiple tables/sources with SQL and SAS
Experience with SQL is required
Healthcare related experience a plus
Hands-on experience working with data mining, analysis, informatics data processing software and languages such as: SAS or Cognos highly preferred
Solid experience using Excel (VLOOKUP, formulas and pivot tables) required
Familiarity with some or all of the following: Hadoop, Hive, Toad and Tableau
Experience with GEO Access or Quest Analytics a plus
Ability to review and analyze code to help decode or research data issues using technologies such SQL, SAS, Excel etc.
Experience working with provider data.
Experience applying a consultative and collaborative approach. Work experience & expertise with team input to influence business priorities and business actions for maximum strategic benefit.
Have led code review process, giving constructive feedback to peers.
Strong problem-solving skills (able to critically think through problems to get to the solution)
Detail oriented (quality assurance on the reports you are producing are accurate)
Strong focus on delivery with proven time management skills (rapid turnaround, ability to engage in multiple tasks, meet deadlines/standards, etc.)
Excellent verbal and written communication and collaboration skills
If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 59,700 – 99,500 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.
This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
