Job Location: Columbia, MO
Perform data collection, research and analysis, system implementation and maintenance, process mapping and project management activities in support of human resources functions and in partnership with the Information Technology department.
Essential Job Functions
- Collect, compile and analyze data related to human resources, compensation, payroll and benefits.
- Ensure integrity and accuracy of data.
- Conduct research and complete special projects involving investigation and analysis of various information and data.
- Liaison with the Information Technology department to determine system capabilities, potential improvements, changes, implementation plans, testing of software releases, etc.
- Recommend information system enhancements and assist in strategic planning, implementation and maintenance of human resources systems.
Ancillary Job Functions
- Present information and respond to questions from managers, employees and the public.
- Maintain a safe workplace and comply with all state and federal safety and health regulations as well as City safety policies and procedures.
- Manage special projects.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience – An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in human resources, business administration, human resources information systems or statistics.
- Three years of professional experience in human resources.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities which may be representative, but not all-inclusive of those commonly associated with this position
- Knowledge and experience utilizing Crystal Reports and SQL Server Reporting Services to create custom reports from the HRIS system.
- Knowledge of human resources technology platforms and systems, including implementation, integration, maintenance and utilization.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and basic office equipment/machines.
- General knowledge of employment laws, regulations and compliance issues.
- Strong interpersonal skills with all levels of employees and external parties.
- Ability to apply critical thinking and problem solving skills to resolve complex issues and improve processes.
- Ability to give and follow written and oral instructions.
- Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work and concentrate on multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently under moderate supervision and make responsible decisions.
- Ability to use good judgment and think quickly and rationally in difficult or stressful situations.
Work Environment – Environmental or atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job
- General office conditions. Exposed to moderate noise levels.
