Job Location: San Antonio, TX
CCO Technology, our US business division’s IT organization, is seeking a cloud-native Data Engineer to join our Enterprise Product Engineering team in Seattle or San Antonio. In this role, you will work in close collaboration with other agilists on a small, mission-driven, delivery team to enhance the features, capabilities and business value of the products in our Enterprise portfolio. Our goal is to create value for the business through a modernized tech stack for ingesting, cataloging, and exposing data to enable business insights and and adaptation to an ever changing market and world.
- Participate in all phases of the product development lifecycle, from feature planning and estimation, through design and dev, to deployment and issue resolution
- Evaluate MS SQL developed SSIS, Stored Procedures, SSAS and SSRS reports, models, and other data objects for improvement
- Work with customers to understand their needs and translate them into technology solutions
- Provide technical guidance to teams and leadership, ensuring our strategy and technical execution meet the needs of the business
- Partner with others to design, deploy, maintain, and enhance our conceptual Data Lake and Data Consumer Model
- Provide Technical Documentation and Diagrams that help inform and visualize your designs for consumption by technical and non-technical members of the CCOA business
- Evaluate existing systems and architectures in order to prepare them for migration into a more modern tech stack
- Embrace modern, agile software development practices and seek to optimize ways of working as a member of a cross-functional engineering team
- Contribute to the development of user stories that clarify what needs to be built, for whom, and why
- Be accountable for the development and timely delivery of business value through technology and process design and implementation
- Share knowledge and learn from your team through pair programming and code review, taking and giving feedback appropriately
- Ensure production solutions are scalable, sustainable, architecturally sound and technical debt is repaid in a reasonable time
- Collaborate with other teams to solve interesting and challenging problems across the company’s technology ecosystem
- You are highly capable Data Engineer, having Designed and Built enterprise-class data platforms and integration/API solutions
- You have extensive experience in designing and building frameworks for data Ingestion and Integration Capabilities on AWS
- You possess extensive experience in AWS Redshift, EMR, RDS, AWS Glue & Athena
- You have extensive experience in a Big Data technology (Hadoop, AWS Data Lake and Lake House, Map Reduce, Hive, Python, Shell Scripting)
- Experience in writing complex and efficient SQL
- Experience in Source Code Management tools like GitHub and Azure DevOps
- You have strong Analytical and Communication Skills, able to translate complex information into distilled and easily consumable concepts
- You have a solid understanding of system design, data structures, and algorithms and understand how to apply them to design pragmatic solutions
- You have experience utilizing cloud services to build, deploy, monitor and scale business critical solutions
- You have experimented with various development methodologies and practices (Agile/Scrum, Lean/Kanban, CI/CD) to optimize team flow and value delivery
- You care deeply about end user experience, clean architecture and shipping high-quality outcomes
- You learn quickly and enjoy working closely together with your product team to bring value to your stakeholders
- You possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with geographically distributed teams
- You are passionate about what you do and have a high interest in keeping up with current best-practices in your areas of expertise

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (preferably business administration, information systems, or computer science) or comparable work experience

3+ years full-time employment in technology-related roles (i.e., technology consulting, corporate IT, tech startup) with increasing levels of responsibility
- 3+ years managing the delivery of enterprise-class business software, technology services and/or support
- 2+ years developing business requirements and technical specs at progressive levels of detail (i.e., epics, features, user stories)
- 2+ years utilizing agile delivery methods, practices, and frameworks (ie., Scrum, Kanban, FDD, Lean)
- 2+ years developing domain knowledge of core business functions, processes and enabling technologies
