Senior AWS Data Engineer

Qualification:
- Bachelors in science , engineering or equivalent
- Current AWS Developer certification or related AWS certification
- Familiar with Pharma or Life Sciences organizations, clients, or Data.
- Hands on experience with building data pipelines, data ingestion, and data warehousing.
Responsibility:
- Experience in architecting data warehouse solutions for 15+ years
- Strong experience (8+) implementing Cloud and infrastructure AWS components (server, storage, network, data, and applications) to deliver end to end Cloud architectures and designs.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in working with Modern data pipelines using open source like Databricks Pyspark or ELT platforms.
- Proven experience in working on cloud environments of technically complex, highly integrated, enterprise environments.
- Cloud experience; specifically hands-on experience in AWS – including S3, Athena, Redshift,Glue, MWAA, EMR, EC2, MySQL, Appflow, and PySpark.
- Design and implement effective Analytics solutions and models.
- Understand the existing architecture and pain points and realign design strategy to ensure ease of operation/performance.
- Experience in participating in data modeling and in developing conceptual and logical data models.
- Experience with SQL and working with normalised as well as de-normalised databases
- Experience of developing enterprise grade ETL/ELT data pipelines with deep understanding of data manipulation/wrangling techniques
- Experience in applying Data Engineering best practices (coding unit testing version control code review)
- Experience Optimizations including increasing Operational efficiencies on AWS while reducing overall DevOps costs
- Ability to root cause and fix bugs/defects. Review and provide both critical feedback and solutions to resolve AWS/Azure architectural questions/issues.
- Create Architectural standards and policy documents to socialize and align cross-functional teams.
- Strong communicator with the ability to work across business and IT teams to provide solution options
- Assists in identifying appropriate data sourcing and extraction processes and in identifying and nominating sources as systems of record for data usage in various instances.
