Job Description
The Enterprise Operations Group Business Intelligence team is seeking a highly-driven self-starter and someone who thinks outside the box to help develop key performance metrics, analytics and insights that drive our Tax, Flood and Closing Corp businesses. This person will work closely with internal customers to define reporting requirements and with our development team to produce outputs from those requirements.
Job Duties
- Analyze business processes and gather requirements to help drive BI development efforts aimed at process improvement
- Utilize company resources to curate data
- Analyze internal and external data to provide insights into trends and patterns
- Develop advanced reporting and analytics that provides insights into market trends and patterns
- Create data visualizations using BI tools including Looker, SSRS, and Excel VBA macros
- Review code and output of the team to identify errors
- Receives general supervision and guidance from more experienced team members.
- Follows department processes, procedures and client requirements; may make recommendations and/or implement improvements/solutions.
- Utilizes tools to compile, query and analyze data according to defined business roles and procedures. May produce reports from various data sources (external and internal) to provide business stakeholders actionable information or business intelligence.
- Tracks project information, follows up on issue status, resolves routine issues, reports status to management.
- Participates in Internship Program activities and events to include: onboarding, educational activities, information sessions, product demos and social events.
- Provides general administrative support as needed.
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as required.
Job Qualifications
Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program pursuing a related degree at an accredited 4-year college or university
- Minimum of two years of relevant coursework completed
- Minimum 3.0 cumulative collegiate grade point average, on a 4.0 scale or the equivalent
- Prior internship or co-op experience preferred
- Participation in campus activities related to field preferred
- Demonstrated leadership experience through participation in on-campus activities, educational forums and/or prior work experience
Assignment Specific Experience
- Beginner to Intermediate SQL query modification and execution skills
- Basic to intermediate VBA experience
- General knowledge and understanding of BI tools (preferably one or more of the following – SSRS, Looker, Tableau, PowerBI). Experience a plus
- General knowledge and understanding of databases including SQL Server and GBQ
- Experience coding in Python or R for business analysis
- Ability to create data visualizations using tools such as Excel, Looker, Tableau or PowerBI
- Ability to learn and understand data mining, data modeling and data warehousing concept
Skills
- Understanding of data and data structures
- Understanding of Python for programming and data analysis
- Understanding of report rationalization and data visualization
- Ability to learn and maintain knowledge of processes, procedures and products of BI
