Overview:
The Business Intelligence Developer III collaborates with various team members and operational departments to develop internal and external reporting tools and gather and analyze requirements using industry best practices. The daily duties include the following:
- Review functional requirements for different products, including development, enhancement, testing, and production for various Business Intelligence applications such as Tableau and MS SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
- Collaborate with multiple teams, including data integrators and data architects, in design discussions of extract, transform and load (ETL) and workflow solutions for data warehousing
- collaborating with business users to develop dashboards and grid reports
- understand the business requirements to build scalable and sustainable enterprise reporting solutions
- Apply relational and multidimensional modeling techniques such as star schema and snowflake schema, fact and dimensional tables in a database with data mapping and architecture integration with Tableau and MS SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) business intelligence (BI) tools
Work extensively in both ad-hoc and standard reporting packages and create scalable reports and dashboards with large volumes of data.
Responsibilities:
- Bring customer-centric focus to the Enterprise Reporting & Data Visualizations platform by building reports and dashboards using Tableau. Ensure the reports and dashboards meet the customer’s needs
- Will work with the product team to understand the business requirements, translate them to technical design and requirements, and build scalable and sustainable enterprise reporting solutions
- Demonstrate through proof of concepts and present them to stakeholders. Formulate and provide recommendations. Promote Self-Service BI
- Create conceptual and technical BI reporting documents
- Mentor, develop, and train team members and end-users
- Assist in code deployment and new client system implementations, including data transfer and user administration
- Limited travel to other locations to train and demonstrate
- Complete all responsibilities as outlined in the annual Performance Plan
- Complete all special projects and other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
- Eight plus years of experience developing reporting products/solutions using MS SQL Server (2008 or above), SSIS, and SSRS
- Two plus years of experience building visually appealing reports in Tableau (19.2 or above) or other BI reporting tool
- Experience working with large-scale data to build reporting solutions
- Working knowledge of optimizing and performance-tuning MS SQL procedures, processes, and reports
- Knowledge of relational/dimensional database design and experience in building reporting data marts
- Ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical requirements
- Ability to work independently and serve as a mentor for more junior developers
- Critical thinking with strong analytical and problem-solving skills required
- Self-starter who can take the initiative, is flexible and has worked under tight timelines to deliver
- Healthcare analysis background and experience preferred
- Familiarity with SAFe Agile methodologies preferred
- Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred
- Two years of experience in Healthcare Risk Adjustment, Payment, or Quality domain preferred
