Aufgaben

With the ever-increasing complexity of our Mechatronics Features and portfolio of truck products, we are creating a new position in the E/E Integration and Validation department, on the Vehicle Software Integration and Data Management team for a Mechatronic Validation Reliability Growth Lead. The Reliability Growth (RG) organization has classically focused primarily on mechanical issues, but testing miles and the data generated represent an opportunity to advance our software quality, safety, functionality and diagnostics.

Product validation engineer in the Systems Integration team focused on growing Mechatronics Validation within Reliability & Growth. This position will be a leadership role bridging the Reliability Growth, Mechatronics Design and Product Validation organizations with the ultimate goal of increasing the business value of the RG test fleet. Some key projects that are proposed are the creation of routes/different environments to better develop & test Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and other Mechatronics features. This position will also develop and lead a process to improve handling of diagnostic faults found in RG including working closely cross functionally to identify, root cause and drive resolution of critical issues. Engineer will interface with product design, product validation, drivers, and customers.

As a senior team member, you will help to shape the team’s success and mentor your fellow teammates on a technical level. To succeed in this role you will need a pioneering spirit, excel at leading a matrixed team, and be comfortable dealing with ambiguity as you work to deliver results from high level goals.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and implement key strategic activities for improving utilization of RG fleet data for Mechatronics validation and customer satisfaction
  • Collaborate and contribute to the Data Analytics Platform team to manage and utilize the vast amounts of vehicle data generated in the RG fleet to be used for trouble-shooting and issue resolution purposes
  • Develop and maintain visualizations and KPIs as needed
  • Work with key stakeholders to align on priorities and generate support for projects
  • Collaborate with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Electric Mobility Group (EMG) Product Validation & Design teams to assist with use cases and various environmental requirements for entire vehicle, excluding powertrain, to improve RG data collection & provide input for product development
  • Identify new opportunities to leverage RG data in support of Mechatronics deliverables
  • Plan, organize, lead, and execute test activities related to electrical, electronic, mechanical, environmental reliability, and safety of electrical systems on medium to heavy-duty truck platform
  • Proactively interface and coordinate with product design, PVE, drivers & customers (as needed) to improve product validation in RG
  • Mentor new employees and interns

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Computer Science/Engineering required
  • 5+ years of related experience
  • Fluency in spoken and written English
  • Ability to obtain a Commercial Drivers License
  • Familiarity with Mechatronics projects and processes
  • Knowledge of embedded processor control logic, and ability to program controllers
  • Experience with data visualization tools, such as Tableau or Power BI
  • Experience with Vector tools, ADTF, python, and/or C++
  • Experience leading technical projects
  • Experience identifying and solving the root cause of complex problems
  • Ability to develop conclusions and recommendations from testing, summarize and present results to peers and management
  • Self-motivated, team oriented and able to navigate ambiguity
