What you’ll achieve
The Global Tax Automation team is looking for a team member with a data driven skill set to take on challenges across a number of countries in support of all our tax functions, including indirect tax compliance (digital tax reporting), controversy management (audit data analysis), transfer pricing (data modeling), and tax return automation. As part of Digital Tax Controllership, we aim to automate processes end to end. You would be part of building an AI-Powered organization enabling “touchless tax return” reporting. We are looking for individuals that can envision a new way of doing things. Someone that is curious to learn how things work, then drive to make it more efficient – introducing new technologies along the way. Someone that has a “growth mindset” and does not see a personal limit to what they can do and learn.
As you develop in this role, and become more familiar with tax concepts, processes, people, and the “end to end” requirements, you must be able to recommend end to end solutions. Meaning, while the day to day job may be to automate a given report, in the broader Automation role you strive to understand and thus automate the processes end to end to reduce manual work. This may mean either introducing emerging technologies like Data Analytics, Machine Learning, or Robotics by you, partnering with other GTA team members, partnering with IT RPA COE team members, or any other teams you think you need to build to resolve the underlying issue.
You will:
- Partner with tax team members to implement automation opportunities leveraging emerging AI technologies such as image recognition, machine learning, cognitive analytics, probabilistic modeling and decision making, and Natural Language Processing (NLP)
- Collect and transform unstructured data into actionable insight (ETL, Machine learning , stat tool, math)
- Analyze data and/or processes end to end to lead discussions on recommended future state vision design.
- Lead discussions to frame problem statements, develop hypotheses, design data frames, recommend modeling approaches, measure success & testing criteria

Essential Requirements
- You have professional experience of 3-5 years in one or more of areas of interest in Artificial Intelligence and/or Data Science – predictive modeling and analysis to drive business outcome, Cognitive Science and Data Analytics, Machine Learning, Information Extraction, Natural Language Processing (NLP).
- Education in Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Statistics, Mathematics, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Able to work well in collaborative teams and fast paced environment to drive business outcomes (Objective and Key Results); willingness and ability to convey complex systems problems and solutions to subject matter experts
- Shall have a strong background in Machine learning (unsupervised and supervised techniques). In particular, excellent understanding of machine learning techniques and algorithms, such as k-NN, Naive Bayes, SVM, Decision Forests, Logistic regression, MLPs, RNNs, etc. with exposure to text mining, parsing and classification using state-of-the-art techniques.
- Ability to write clean code and build Python packages to deploy and retrain Machine learning models at scale.
Desirable Requirements
- Strong expertise in Python, Machine Learning and Deep Learning frameworks – Sklearn, Pandas, Numpy, Keras, Tensorflow, Gensim, NLTK, Spacy, SQL, PL/SQL, etc
- Good to have hands on expertise with MLOps tools like Airflow, MLFLow, Docker and Kubernetes.
