Supporting the DuPont R&D community – We are seeking an experienced, energetic, and solution-oriented specialist/engineer who will help drive and enable innovation through agile custom developed solutions to maximize the value of information through information and knowledge management and support for the underlying Research Solutions applications. The key responsibilities of the Research Solution Specialist are:


Your Key Responsibilities
:

  • Work directly with IDS and R&D scientists, engineers, external contractors, consultants, and partners needed to efficiently and effectively implement and support digital technology solutions to enable R&D innovation and objectives

  • Develop, implement, and support digital applications for scientific experiment documentation and associated databases (e.g., Electronic Lab Notebooks)

  • Troubleshoot and support various servers serving research communities in Chemical Information Systems

  • Information gathering and data curation to generate Dashboards to facilitate application consumption insights

  • Interact with the IDS organization and partners to optimize and automate the data analysis and visualization tools

  • Design automated scientific pipelines to help research communities using KNIME, Pipeline Pilot, relational databases, and PHPRunner software

  • Build relationships with DuPont R&D Scientists and Engineers to identify and comprehend their needs to develop the long-term strategy and associated roadmaps for system upgrades and enhancements to fulfill their needs (e.g., understand the lab processes, needs, and gaps to build the project roadmap, determine future upgrades, and investigate future new tools)

  • Build relationships with the DuPont Information Technology organization to ensure digital applications meet security requirements for information storage, access control, and unique business security needs

  • Build strong relationships and collaborations with our external vendors and consultants


Your Qualification Profile:

  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Management, or related field

  • At least 2 years of project management experience

  • Familiarity with information management solutions: Electronic Lab Notebooks, Digital Document Storage solutions, Chemical Intelligent Systems, etc.

  • At least 2 years of relevant software development experience at least two of the following languages: Tableau, Microsoft Tools (Automate, Power BI, Power App), KNIME, Pipeline Pilot

  • Experience in application data integration with relational databases (Oracle or MS SQL Servers)

  • Experience in system scripting language such as BASH and PowerShell

  • Knowledge of Linux systems administration

  • Software prototyping development in Python, Java, Node.js (JavaScript), C#

  • DevOps using Puppet, Chef, or Power Shell DSC

  • Support code environments for the Information & Data Sciences organization through proficiency within Gitlab

  • Experience in system scripting language such as BASH and PowerShell is preferred

  • Knowledge of Linux systems administration is preferred

  • Software prototyping development in Python, Java, Node.js (JavaScript), C# is preferred

  • DevOps using Puppet, Chef, or Power Shell DSC is preferred

  • Support code environments for the Information & Data Sciences organization through proficiency within Gitlab is preferred

  • Project Management Skills – Ability to apply frameworks and methodologies such as Agile and SCRUM throughout a project’s lifecycle.

  • Collaboration and Networking – Proficient at networking and sharing ideas and success. The candidate must effectively collaborate with a variety of DuPont R&D teams, related functions, and 3rd-party vendors.

  • Customer Focused – Driven to understand customer needs, improve services, and maintain effective customer relations.

  • Self-motivated problem solver – Develop strong relationship with key internal customers to understand their needs and how the IDS team can support their processes.

  • Communication skills – Effectively communicate complex technical ideas associated with information management best practices to all stakeholders. Comfortable identifying and communicating translating the needs of the scientist to IT.

Candidate will be working within an office/remote work hybrid setting (60/40) with flexibility based on experience
