About the opportunity
The Business Analyst’s main role is to consult with end users, understand and optimize business processes and to assist them in becoming more efficient and effective utilizing various software tools.
Where you will make an impact
- Understanding customers’ business processes, looking for opportunities to enable them via the appropriate application of technology, researching technologies that could automate/streamline those processes and assisting in the implementation of agreed upon technologies
- Providing user support in the use of computerized applications, including: assisting in the creation, development and maintenance of end-user procedure manuals; providing staff or customers with training in the use of computer hardware/software and related topics; and providing in-depth support for specific applications including electronic records systems
- Assisting users to prepare for and test Banner patches and upgrades. Coordinating with SUNY partners to plan and schedule the installation of Banner patches and upgrades into testing and production environments
- Providing technical assistance by responding to inquiries regarding errors, problems, or questions with applications
- Providing daily technical administration of certain applications systems as needed, such as Dynamic Forms, Zoom, Proctorio and others
- Assisting clients in troubleshooting issues within various applications including the Ellucian Banner product suite
What you will bring
- Knowledge of higher education core business processes
- Experience with the following Banner modules: Student, Finance, Financial Aid, HR
- Strong customer relationship skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and technical writing skills
- Ability to present technical information to a non-technical audience
- General information technology troubleshooting skills
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, vendors, and customers
- Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent experience
- Extra Credit
- Experience with Argos, DegreeWorks, Banner Document Management
- Experience with Dynamic Forms
