About our exciting opportunity
Ericsson Global AI Accelerator (GAIA) is a global unit that has been set up to accelerate our Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning offerings. It is chartered with the responsibility of building a highly competent center of excellence that brings together a team of talented Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Software Engineers, and Machine Learning Architects towards the goal of enhancing Ericsson products and services portfolio with advanced AI/ML powered capabilities.
We are currently looking for a Data Scientist II to work with one of our Global AI Accelerator units, based in Santa Clara, CA, USA.
The role is expected to work as an individual contributor to design and develop machine learning models, and help data engineers build data pipelines, deploy and maintain models in production.
What you will do
Ericsson portfolio covers a wide spectrum of domain knowledge for both product development and customer support in telecommunications and networking.
Your responsibilities will involve building a knowledge management system which is critical to facilitate and automate a variety of processes and workflows in capturing, curating, and using Ericsson domain knowledge:

Collect and process data, including creating or using relevant labeling tools.

Design, develop, deploy and improve machine learning models in production.

Contribute to rapid and iterative development of minimum viable products.
To be successful in the role you must have:
-
MS or PhD in Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
-
2+ years (MS) or 1+ year (PhD) of work experience in machine learning, information extraction and data mining.

Proven skills in development of AI/ML applications through state-of-the-art frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow, particularly for natural language processing leveraging deep learning.

Solid programming skills in various languages (e.g., Python, C/C++, or Java) with proficiency in Python to write production grade code.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, abilities to learn in a fast-paced environment.

Teamwork spirit to communicate, interact, share with others and willingness to help others.

Good communication skills in both written and spoken English.
You might also have:

Experience in graph learning and knowledge graph is a plus.

Knowledge in telecommunications and networking is a plus.
The salary range for this position is listed below. The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience. Santa Clara $108800 – $163200
Your pay also includes the opportunity for an annual bonus. Actual bonus payouts are based on performance of the business against the unit’s objectives, individual performance, and the individual bonus target. Certain eligibility and pro-ration rules apply.

Your Financial Security:
We invest in both your short and long-term financial wellbeing. Ericsson’s 401(k) plan offers an automatic 3% company contribution and up to a 4% company match, leading to a maximum company contribution of 7% annually. Employees will also receive company paid basic life and accidental death and dismemberment coverage and paid company short-term and long-term disability benefits. Employees also have the option to participate in Ericsson’s Stock Purchase Plan.
Your Time:
Your work-life balance is important to us. New employees are provided up to 40 days of paid time off per year, including 15 days of accrued annual vacation, 3 personal days, 11 paid holidays, 10 sick days, and 1 volunteer day. Please note paid time off is pro-rated based on the employee’s start date. Those with additional vacation time at the end of the year may sell one week of vacation, equal to a week of pay. Furthermore, Ericsson provides up to 16 weeks of maternity/medical leave, 6 weeks of paternity or adoption leave at 100% of pay, and medical leave at 100% or 66 2/3% of pay, based on length of service.
