Position Summary
The Data Analyst position is responsible for developing, preparing and analyzing operational, grant and quality reporting, and providing high-level support for clinical operations, quality, grant management and other administrative projects.
Key Accountabilities
Data Reporting & Analytics
Researches and collects data from multiple sources. Writes SQL queries to extract data from databases for analysis.
Develops, prepares, and analyzes reporting and spreadsheets to facilitate data extraction, interpretation and evaluation for all areas of the organization, including Operations, Quality Management and Grant Management.
Creates detailed reports and recommendations and clearly communicates them to management.
Analyzes collected data for trends and outliers focused on improving the organization’s efficiency, outcomes, grant utilization and revenue collection.
Identifies potential strategies and offers suggestions to resolve issues identified by data analysis.
Creates visual depictions of data, graphs and charts based on data analysis findings
Set-up, configuration and mapping of codes, forms and reports in Centricity/Athena
Retrieves and organizes reports from various departments and organizes for group to review
Project Coordination
Performs special projects and duties as assigned; monitors project progress, drafts and distributes periodic progress reports for leadership; ensures project deadlines are met.
Prepares project reports, correspondence, memoranda, contracts, agreements, technical charts, tables and other specialized materials; follows up on action items; prepares analyses as requested.
Management Team Support
Develops and maintains filing system for Management team reports, contracts, correspondence, policies etc.
Serves as an EMR Superuser.
Responds to and resolves administrative inquiries and questions.
Assist in organizing, scheduling & recording minutes for meetings and appointments.
Education/Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in healthcare related field required, MPH desirable.
3+ years related healthcare reporting & analytics, quality, and/or billing experience
Community/public Health Experience Preferred.
Experience developing and analyzing reporting from Electronic Health Record and medical billing systems; Centricity experience strongly preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Proficiency with MS Office, including Excel (advanced), Word, PPT, Outlook, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, as well as utilizing virtual meeting, project management and presentation software programs. Fluency in SQL or other similar programming languages. Some development experience in at least one scripting language (Python, R, etc.) is a plus.
Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to prepare written correspondence using correct grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Effective organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Ability to learn current office software and equipment and future updates to software or hardware.
Ability to collaborate with the managerial staff of various departments.
Knowledge of medical terminology used in medical billing & coding, current office practices and procedures, and basic math.
Knowledge and understanding of the coding abstracting system used in the Medical Records Department for efficient data gathering.
Ability to elicit and evaluate information, sometimes of a highly personal and sensitive nature, from a broad spectrum of individuals and agencies.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Ability To Coordinate Functions And Work Cooperatively With Others.
