POSITION SUMMARY:

The Sr. Manager of Organization Data Strategy and Analytics is responsible for working with business leaders to execute on a cross-Opco data strategy and lead a team that enables FXO to make data-driven decisions related to strategic priorities. This role supports advanced analytics needs on long-term strategies using external and internal data from all areas of the business (i.e. Finance, IT, HR, Marketing, Operations, Sales). The Sr. Manager will make recommendations and influence how decisions are made at the Executive Leadership level by utilizing innovative, consumable, data-driven stories and decision science methods that lead to action.

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead and manage a team by training, developing, and coaching team members on a consistent basis
• Works with business leaders, stakeholders, information technology, FedEx Operating Companies, and vendors to execute and refine the data strategy roadmap and ensure continuous alignment and progress
• Responsible for leading a team that will implement and scale a cloud analytics platform, launch new data visualization tools, expand governance and stewardship activities, and develop complex end-to-end data solutions for the organization
• Leads the effort on advanced analytics to generate efficient algorithms, predictive models, and business rules across a variety of data sources (Workforce, Financial, Sales, Operational, External) that enable the evolving FedEx Office strategies
• Gathers, consolidates, normalizes, and analyzes data from Sales, Marketing, Operational, Supply Chain, Human Resources, Financial, and Transportation systems to extract meaningful insights through statistical control techniques, such as logistical regression and the design of experiments
• Presents relevant insights in clear, succinct manner and effectively demonstrates the implications of these trends on the business to influence key stakeholders (often non-technical audience) to take action on recommendations
• Responsible for clearly communicating and activating support for various initiatives across the different levels of the organization
• Establishes strong cross-functional relationships to fully understand the business and the key success factors in the industry, while participating in organizational-wide advanced analytics projects
• Develop and lead cross functional COEs on Data Governance and Stewardship and approach to advanced analytics at FXO
• Create and facilitate a cross-functional COE targeting a more unified approach to reporting across the organization
• Create ongoing skill development and acquisition strategy to ensure implementation of strategic data initiatives
• Maintains strong relationships with business partners to understand business goals, strategies, and KPIs and identifies solutions to close significant business gaps
• Builds an analytics culture in FXO by demonstrating its value to executive leadership
• Manages all phases of project and/or program requirements
• Manage and Selects vendors
• Oversee and manage department budget
• All other duties as needed or required

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree/equivalent in Business Analytics, Data Science, or related applied mathematics field or equivalent experience
• Master’s degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, or MBA preferred
• 7+ years’ experience required in related field (data science, predictive modeling/forecasting, statistical methods, organization development, financial analysis, business consulting, operational analysis, etc.)
• Experience in Microsoft Office and web-based applications; preferred experience with SAS
• Highly competent in Microsoft Excel
• Experience with Data Visualization platforms (e.g. Power BI) preferred
• Prior experience being able to influence stakeholders and lead large project teams
• Strong time management, organizational skills, and ability to anticipate and identify problems and use sound judgment to develop effective solutions
