US Battlefield Information Collection and Exploitation System eXtended (US BICES-X) is a cutting edge program supporting DoD intelligence information sharing on current and emerging global threats to mission and coalition partners and emerging nations. With an internationally dispersed team supporting each combatant command, the US BICES-X team is in direct support of the war fighter and their missions. We are seeking a creative and driven professional with a passion for solving real world issues on a cross-functional, fast paced team.
Candidate will work directly with the Enterprise Operations team to understand and develop the US BICES footprint in support of Enterprise Operations. The candidate may work directly with MPE team members to ensure coordination and interoperability of the two environments. The candidate may be required to direct/lead/mentor team members with multiple areas of expertise.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as Technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) for VMware Virtualization technologies (VCSA7, ESXi7, Horizon 8 VDI).
- Provide operational support and troubleshooting for monitoring software as a part of the Enterprise Data Center Team.
- Design, develop, evaluate, and modify virtual compute environments throughout the technology life cycle.
- Participate in system conceptual design and documentation for enterprise virtualization platforms.
- Manage virtual server operating system templates (Windows 2016/2019 Core/ DE / Linux).
- Administer VMware virtual environments to include ESXi hosts, vCenter appliances, VxRail HCIs, and vSANs.
- Determine system specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility.
- Provide system/equipment/specialized training and technical guidance as needed.
- Provide input to briefings, transitioning concepts to execution, course of action (COA) development, and assisting in project technical planning and implementation.
- Develop standard operation procedures (SOPs) and system documentation.
- Collaborate with managers, network engineers, team members, and customers on solutions and issues.
- Review, analyze, and verify current security configuration and effectiveness in response to DoD requirements and emerging threats.
- Achieve and maintain Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) compliance.
- Provide tier II/III support in identifying, analyzing, and resolving problems.
- Monitor Enterprise ticketing system (ServiceNow) and respond accordingly to resolve customer issues.
- Continuous improvement mindset to ensure quality of delivered services.
- May be required to perform duties outside of normal day shift hours.
- May be required to perform team lead and/or other supervisory responsibilities.
- Mentor and coach less experienced system administrators and engineers.
- Participate in special projects as assigned.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience required.

Preferred Qualifications:
- VMware Certified Professional – Data Center Virtualization (VCP-DCV)
- VMware Certified Professional – Desktop and Mobility (VCP-DTM)
- Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE)
- Experience with Dell/EMC VxRail Hyperconverged Infrastructure.
- Experience setting up and maintaining SolarWinds monitoring service.
- Experience with backup and recovery leveraging EMC Avamar, Data Domain, iDPA.
- Experience with High Availability (HA) and Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP).
- Experience with Splunk software platform.
This position may be required to complete short-term deployments to austere locations worldwide
The work is typically performed in an office environment, which requires normal safety precautions; work may require some physical effort in the handling of light materials, boxes or equipment
