OVERVIEW:

Our Systems Engineering Strategy & Modeling team is dedicated to the application and advancement of Systems and Product Line Engineering across GM. We are developing leading edge data solutions, processes, and tool implementations for requirements, model-based systems engineering (MBSE) and product variation management. We are seeking innovative and determined individuals to help transform and advance our company in digital engineering solutions to support the product development lifecycle.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and deploying data solutions for the application of model-based system engineering / feature set strategy. While engaging with subject matter experts and using your knowledge of systems engineering processes, methods, tools, and SysML you will help foster and develop a broader understanding of modeling practices, feature set strategy across engineering domains and promote a digital engineering culture.

Hybrid Work Location: This position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively. This position requires an employee to be onsite as required for key meetings/workshops on a minimal basis.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Functional Domain models for Engineering Features and Systems

  • Develop use cases for model connectivity and data integrations to requirements and test assets across engineering domains.

  • Support necessary process & tooling development and best practice / standards creation

  • Develop integrated solutions for MBSE and product line engineering (variation management)

  • Support Engineering Feature List/ Engineering Systems List maintenance, improvement & quality

  • Coach engineering teams on MBSE, FSS and product line engineering principles and tools.

  • Support systems engineering tool users. Includes training, tool development/optimization, user acceptance testing and user interface projects.

  • Participate in Systems Engineering forums (Framework CCB, SE JFT, SE LACE).

  • Support transition to Scaled Agile Framework.

  • Support and collaborate with IT tool integrations and development.

  • SE Strategy & Modeling Communication


Additional Job Description

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science required
  • 1 – 3 years of related experience
  • Experience in Systems Engineering methodologies or application (e.g. SysML)
  • Experience using modeling tools (e.g. Rhapsody, GEARs) to model complex systems
  • Experience or familiarity with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
  • Ability to debug and resolve tool and process issues
  • High level of analytical ability to generalize and reason about complex problem spaces in search of solutions
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas and concepts into actionable task and solid deliverables
  • Deals well with ambiguity
  • Initiative to reach beyond current assignment and improve the output and/or help others
  • Capable in collaboration core business tools (SharePoint, MS Teams, Stages, Maxis, Power BI etc.)
