Responsibilities:
- Extract, analyze, and report data from the university’s student information system (Banner), CRM (Salesforce), Handshake, and other university or external data sources in response to recurring and ad hoc requests.
- Conduct research, interpret data, perform analyses, and generate reports focused primarily on admissions, enrollment, engagement, and retention to inform understanding of outcomes and trends.
- Design and develop statistical reports and analyses
- Maintain relevant databases as required Develop and maintain simple to complex queries for data extraction and analysis
- Performs other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Understanding of and experience with large relational databases and demonstrated aptitude in data analysis or data management
- Experience with reporting tools, understanding of simple programming (e.g. SQL) to query and extract data from large databases Familiarity with the development of surveys and analysis of survey data
- Proficiency in the use of SPSS, Python, Microsoft Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Word, or equivalent
- Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously and manage competing priorities, complete assignments on time and with a high degree of quality and responsiveness with moderate supervision
- Excellent oral and written skills and the ability to communicate comfortably with students, colleagues, and external constituents while maintaining confidentiality.
- Ability to work well both independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Cultural competency to work with diverse students and/or employee population
