Position Details
POSITION SUMMARY
Support the Vice President of Information Technology in the rollout of Goodwill’s new Data & Analytics program. This role will design, develop and automate the company’s reporting & KPI infrastructure for individual users, managers, executives and the CEO. It also provides analysis to the CEO and business owners in visually appealing and easy to translate dashboard formats.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead in the design and development of reports, data visualizations, dashboards, and other outputs using Tableau.
- Provide training and support to departments in the day-to-day use of Tableau’s reports and dashboards.
- Manipulate and analyze complex, high-volume, high-dimensionality data from varying sources using a variety of tools and data analysis techniques.
- Analyze business requirements to determine appropriate data needs and reporting solution.
- Perform data profiling to validate business requirements, key assumptions, and identify potential data or process gaps.
- Perform data analysis to identify and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
- Provide data education to key business groups to raise awareness of what information is readily available in in the data warehouse for analysis.
- Acquire data from various internal and external sources and import into data warehouse.
- Monitor data quality/integrity and work with internal stakeholders to identify and correct data quality/integrity issues.
- Effectively communicate ideas, plans, and results through presentations and written reports.
- Prepare and deliver reports, recommendations, or alternatives that address existing and potential trouble areas in operating systems across the organization.
- Participate in special projects as needed and performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in computer science, math, statistics, or equivalent technical field.
- 1-3 years’ experience working in information technology and/or data analytics. Experience with rolling out a new data analytics system within an organization is a plus.
- 2+ years’ experience writing, maintaining, and debugging SQL queries (Intermediate level skills).
- 1+ years of experience with Tableau. Experience with Tableau Server is a plus.
- Knowledge of ETL and data warehouse processes.
- Proven ability to analyze trends, compile data into comprehensive reports, and make business recommendations based off findings.
- Knowledge of and proficiency in manipulating and analyzing large public and proprietary business, financial and demographic datasets. Ability to work successfully with diverse groups of team members and external entities.
- Proficient in visualizing, designing, and developing reports in business intelligence tools, preferably Tableau.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills including ability to communicate effectively on the telephone, virtually, and via e-mail.
- Ability to explain complicated or technical information in a simple way to non-technical audiences.
- Proficient in core MS Office Professional Tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Attention to detail as necessary to produce high quality work.
- Must have a valid Texas Driver’s License and reliable transportation, and pass any required federal, state, municipality, and/or customer-specific background checks.
- Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position.
