Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms in either an academic or industry setting.
- 2 years of experience with software development in C++, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
- Experience with system programming.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science.
- 2 years of experience with machine learning algorithms and tools (e.g., TensorFlow), artificial intelligence, learning, or natural language processing.
- Experience in building machine learning infrastructure (e.g., Tensorflow, Pytorch, JAX).
- Experience in building compilers, interpreters, or program transformation tools.
- Experience in developing accessible technologies.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $126,000-$190,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Design and implement/improve features in the JAX core system.
- Contribute to the JAX efforts to create and sustain a broad community of users and contributors including guiding contributions, answering user and contributor questions online and in office hours, writing documentation and improving user journeys, and representing JAX at industry and research conferences.
- Collaborate with teams that build the JAX ecosystem, including: compilers, runtime systems, production infrastructure, performance engineering for scientific computations on accelerators, data input pipelines.
- Maintain the JAX runtime systems and integrations with compilers, for CPUs, GPUs, and TPUs, in single-host and distributed settings, for Google internal and for external usage, high-level libraries.
