Job Location: Fairfax, VA
- Maintain and update the current GRASP Monitoring & Evaluation Plan outlining the broad strategy for GRASP and specifying key metrics that must be captured to best understand the success and impact of the work of GRASP.
- Maintain and update the current organizational logic models associated with GRASP including geospatial portfolios related to research, data and interactive applications, emergency response, cartography, and analysis.
- Continue tracking, reporting, and clarification of over 40 key GRASP organizational metrics, gathered from a variety of sources including reporting from the GRASP team, using data dictionaries, monitoring and evaluation frameworks, and existing tracking sheets.
- Prepare reports that include metrics and information on GRASP operations, scientific contributions, and public health engagement.
- Prepare user satisfaction surveys and other evaluation tools to enable GRASP to collect information on the work that it does with partners at the CDC/ATSDR and beyond.
- Deliver reports on a quarterly basis.
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5+ years of experience in the fields of public health, scientific research, communications, business analysis, continuous quality program improvement, program operations support, or monitoring & evaluation.
- 3+ years of experience developing a Monitoring & Evaluation Plan.
- 3+ years of experience operationalizing program or performance metrics including development of tracking systems and processes; gathering and reporting of data; and cleaning and preparing data for sharing.
- 3+ years of experience recommending improvements to metric tracking systems and program reporting processes based on the monitoring & evaluation results and support the implementation of those recommendations.
- 3+ years of experience preparing and editing communications products that are high quality, interesting for non-specialists, and easy to understand.
- 3+ years’ experience with qualitative (i.e., coding of information, MAXQDA software) and quantitative (i.e., creating and using pivot charts in Excel, descriptive statistics) data analysis and visualization.

Master’s Degree in public health
- Knowledge or experience working with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) or the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR)
- Strong business analysis, critical thinking, client management, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work in a dynamic environment.
- Previous experience using the CDC Framework for Program Evaluation.
- Knowledge or experience working with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) or the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR).
- An awareness of geospatial science concepts, methods, and tools.
- Knowledge of OMB/PRA requirements.
- Experience using a variety of data portals to gather, create reports, and export key information (e.g., Adobe Analytics, Altmetric, Scopus, internal program management systems).
- Strong attention to detail for all work tasks.
- Experience conducting work with minimal guidance or direction.
- Strong interpersonal, facilitation, and written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a variety of team members.
